Vinash Madan, a student of BS Computer Science, Institute of Distance Education, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, has embarked on an extraordinary journey from Pakistan to Nepal. Among the thousands of applicants nationwide, only eight individuals were selected, with Vinash being the only male representative from whole Punjab. He will proudly represent his university, and organization at the Everest International Model United Nations, engaging with delegates from 20 different countries.

EIMUN 2024 provides a platform for young leaders to develop their skills in diplomacy, negotiation, public speaking, and critical thinking. The conference aims to foster a deeper understanding of international relations and the workings of the United Nations, while promoting peace, cooperation, and cultural exchange among participants.

Vinash Madan is no stranger to the International stage. He has already represented his community, organization, and university at multiple national and international forums including Turkey, Bangladesh and Bangkok. With over seven years of experience in philanthropy, he has dedicated himself to various projects and initiatives focused on peace promotion and youth leadership. His commitment and contributions to these causes have been exemplary, making him a beacon of inspiration for many.

His participation in the Everest International Model United Nations highlights the global impact and leadership potential of students from IUB and Pakistan.

Orientation session on HEC ODL Policy under Faculty of Online and Distance education was conducted on May 16, 2024 in Video Conference Room, KGF Auditorium, BJ Campus where an interactive session was organized. Dr Tanveer Ahmad, HEC trainer delivered on HEC ODL policy and explained multiple aspects to implement ODL policy keeping in view HEC guidelines and quality standards. Incharges Dean faculty of online & Distance Education Prof. Dr Nasreen Akhter, Director ODL Dr. Hassan Mujtaba, Dr. Muhammad Nadeem, Deputy Director, Dr. Faheem Mushtaq Bajwa, Dr. Javaid Iqbal and various senior faculty members attached with the faculty of online and Distance Education course teaching, attended the session.

On 24th June 2023, a seminar was organised by Faculty of Online and Distance Education IUB about the opportunities and challenges associated with online and distance education in Pakistan. The main aim was to identify strategies and solutions to maximise the potential benefits.
Dean Faculty of Online and Distance Education Professor Dr.Akhtar Ali focused on digitalization of education in Pakistan and its perspectives. Deputy Director IDE Dr. Najam ul Kashif elaborated the strategies to be devised in order to overcome future challenges faced by distance education and facilities provided in IUB as under the benign supervision of the honourable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, the faculty has developed rapidly into fully functioning to aiding distance education's widespread growth. Additional Director IT Dr. Nasir Aftab also graced the function with his presence.
More than 600 students of Online and Distance Education Faculty attended the seminar to get benefits from their highly experienced teachers.

Faculty of Online and Distance Education Islamia University Bahawalpur conducted an orientation session for the students of spring 2023 in GHOTIVI HALL Abbassia campus on 19 March. Dean Faculty of Online and Education Prof. Dr. Akhtarr Ali extolled the vision of ENG.Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob and highlighted the importance of blended and hybrid learning.
