Khawaja Farid Chair was established in year 1996. Khawaja Ghulam Farid (R.A) was a great Sufi-Saint of the 19th Century.
The purpose of the establishment of the Chair is to preserve, publish and promote the teachings of the great Sufi-Saint through research work and interactive activities. His Sufi-poetry written in Saraiki language is immensely popular across the globe. A milestone of Khawaja Farid Chair-IUB, Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Farid's name has now been officially inscribed on the erstwhile main auditorium of IUB.
The former Main Auditorium was renamed as "Khawaja Ghulam Farid Auditorium" last year by the Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob (T.I) on the request of Khawaja Rawal Mueen Koreja, Director Khawaja Farid Chair and Khawaja Farid Chair Management Committee.
Congratulations to all lovers of Farid.
