Arbisoft’s Senior Software Engineer Visits Faculty of Computing, IUB

Mr. Rehan Aziz, a Senior Software Engineer at Arbisoft—a renowned software house in Lahore—visited the Faculty of Computing, Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB), under Arbisoft's Campus Ambassador Program. The program aimed to raise awareness about emerging industry trends, essential job-hunting skills, and strategies to excel in written tests and interviews within the software industry.

The session, attended by faculty members from the Departments of Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Technology, along with over 100 students from various departments, spanned an engaging four hours.

The event featured insightful talks by Mr. Rehan Aziz, Dr. Malik Muhammad Saad Missen (Chairperson, Department of Software Engineering), Dr. Dost Muhammad Khan (Dean, Faculty of Computing), and Prof. Dr. Najia (Chairperson, Department of Artificial Intelligence). Students actively participated in this highly interactive session, which included written test preparation and mock interviews.

The Software Engineering Students Club of the Department of Software Engineering organized the event. The certificates of appreciation were awarded to organizers of the event. Dr. Malik Muhammad Saad Missen expressed his gratitude to Arbisoft for its valuable contribution in bridging the gap between academia and industry.

AI and the Human Mind: A Symbiotic Journey – A Seminar by Dr. Noman Javed

The Department of Software Engineering at Islamia University Bahawalpur successfully hosted an insightful seminar titled "AI and the Human Mind: A Symbiotic Journey", featuring renowned researcher Dr. Noman Javed as the keynote speaker.

Dr. Noman Javed, a distinguished PhD graduate in Parallel Computing from France, has held positions at the University of Edinburgh and Namal University and is currently a researcher at the London School of Economics. As an alumnus of Islamia University, Dr. Javed's return to share his expertise was a moment of pride for the faculty and students.

The seminar delved into the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its deep connection with human cognition. Dr. Javed highlighted how AI development not only advances technology but also enhances our understanding of how humans learn, reason, and solve problems. From early rule-based systems to modern machine learning and neural networks, the session explored how AI and human intelligence inspire and shape each other.

The event was organized by the Software Engineering Club in collaboration with Dr. Malik M. Saad Missen (Chairman, Department of Software Engineering) and Prof. Dr. Dost Muhammad Khan (Dean, Faculty of Computing). Special appreciation goes to Prof. Dr. Najia for her esteemed presence. The seminar was well-attended by faculty members, MS/PhD scholars, and undergraduate students, making it an engaging and thought-provoking discussion.
