On May 14, 2026, the Department of Economics, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, successfully organized a Mock Interview activity for the students of BS Economics 7th and 8th semester from IUB and GSCWU Bahawalpur.
This important initiative was arranged in line with the university’s commitment to outcome-based education under the guidance of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, and the leadership of the Chairman, Dr. Muhammad Atif Nawaz. The activity was designed to prepare students for market-demand jobs, strengthen their confidence, and enhance their readiness for professional interviews and future career opportunities.

The Department of Economics is delighted to share glimpses from the First Roundtable on “Fiscal Federalism: Issues of Resource Distribution in Pakistan,” organized by the School of Economics, Bahauddin Zakariya University, under the Center for Excellence on Public Policy and Economic Development (CEPPED).

🎉 Alhamdulillah! A wonderful learning experience at the Department of Economics, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur 🎉
On April 23, 2026, the Department of Economics successfully conducted the workshop “From Data to Decision: Practical SPSS Workshop for Researchers” in collaboration with iRASD.
The workshop received an encouraging response from faculty members belonging to different universities and various academic departments, along with PhD and MPhil scholars who joined both physically and online. The active participation of scholars and faculty made the session highly engaging, interactive, and enriching.
📊 The workshop provided practical exposure to SPSS and helped participants strengthen their understanding of data analysis, interpretation, and research application in an academic setting.

Today, 7 April 2026, the department successfully conducted an Orientation Session for 1st Semester students of BS Economics, BS Economics & Finance, and BS Economics with IT. The session was designed to familiarize students with the department, academic programs, faculty, facilities, and the exciting learning and career opportunities ahead.
