نیشنل ریسرچ سنٹر آف انٹرکراپنگ، اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کسانوں کی پیداوار اور آمدنی بڑھانے کے لیے جدید انٹرکراپنگ ٹیکنالوجیز پر مسلسل کام کر رہا ہے۔ انہی کوششوں کا ایک اہم قدم کماد–سویا بین انٹرکراپنگ ہے۔
کماد کے ساتھ سویا بین کی کاشت نہ صرف کھیت کی پیداوار بڑھاتی ہے بلکہ پاکستان کے بھاری سویا بین درآمدی بل کو بھی کم کرنے میں مددگار ثابت ہوگی.
✅ زیادہ پیداوار – کماد اور سویا بین ایک دوسرے کو مکمل کرتے ہیں اور زمین و سورج کی روشنی کا بہترین استعمال کرتے ہیں۔
✅ زمین کی صحت – سویا بین دالوں کے خاندان سے ہے جو نائٹروجن خود پیدا کرتی ہے اور کھاد کی ضرورت کم ہوجاتی ہے۔
✅ درآمدی بوجھ میں کمی – پاکستان ہر سال پولٹری فیڈ اور خوردنی تیل کے لیے اربوں روپے کا سویا بین درآمد کرتا ہے۔ مقامی سطح پر اس کی کاشت سے قیمتی زرمبادلہ بچایا جا سکتا ہے۔
✅ پانی و غذائی اجزاء کا بہتر استعمال – وسائل کا مؤثر استعمال زراعت کو زیادہ پائیدار بناتا ہے۔
✅ کسان کی آمدنی میں اضافہ – دو فصلیں، دو فائدے؛ نقد آور فصل (کماد) + پروٹین فصل (سویا بین)۔
✅ ماحولیاتی فوائد – کم کیمیکل استعمال اور زیادہ حیاتیاتی تنوع۔

Our experiments using different planting densities under the maize-soybean strip intercropping system with and without drip irrigation and plastic mulch are progressing very well, Alhamdulillah. Now, both soybean and maize at flowering and tasseling stages, respectively. Moreover, all these experiments are planned, arranged, and managed by GAAS and NRCI-IUB.

In sha Allah, our institute’s productive intercropping systems will enable our farmers to achieve higher crop yields with reduced inputs, Ameen.
To date, we have successfully optimized three primary strip intercropping systems for our farming community, especially for spring season:
Maize Soybean Intercropping
Sugarcane Soybean Intercropping
Cotton Soybean Intercropping
All interested farmers are requested to register with us, providing their phone numbers and the planned area for spring season planting. We will train you on how to intercrop soybean with either maize, sugarcane, or cotton and assist you throughout the growing season to achieve high economic profits.
Here, we are thankful to the Punjab Agricultural Research Board for providing the initial research funds to test and optimize these productive intercropping systems for our farming community.
