Students of English Department Celebrate Teachers' Day at University of Sindh, Laar Campus Badin

Badin, October 6, 2026 - Students of the Department of English Language and Literature, University of Sindh, Laar Campus Badin, celebrated Teachers' Day today with a special programme to honour their teachers and acknowledge their role in shaping young minds.

During the event, students delivered speeches on the importance of teachers in society and shared their gratitude for the guidance, support, and encouragement they receive from their faculty. Several students also recited poetry in tribute to their teachers, which was warmly appreciated by the audience. As a token of appreciation, students presented gifts to the faculty members.

The programme concluded with final remarks by Campus Coordinator and Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tufail Chandio. He appreciated the students for organizing the event and acknowledged their respect and affection for their teachers.

The celebration highlighted the strong bond between students and faculty at the department and the value placed on respect for teachers.

Laar Campus Badin Hosts Online Training Session on Claude AI

Badin, October 01, 2026 — Laar Campus Badin organized an online training session on Claude AI for its final year and third year students. The session was jointly hosted by the Department of Accounting, Finance and Management and the Department of Computer Science.

Dr. Muhammad Tufail Chandio, Campus Coordinator, presided over the session. Dr Chandio said that Laar Campus Badin is committed to providing quality education and fostering professional development through innovative learning initiatives.

The training was conducted by Dr. Irum Khan, an AI literacy and fluency trainer, who delivered the session online from Islamabad. She is a PRISM AI Safety Fellow with Women Who Do Data (W2D2) and works with the Arcadia Impact UK team and MIT AIID. Her advisory and training engagements include work with UN Women, the World Bank, and the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF).

During the two-hour session, Dr. Irum Khan trained students on writing effective prompts, utilizing skills, projects, and other options in Claude, and the responsible academic use of AI. More than 75 students connected online from three lecture halls equipped with internet, multimedia screens, and sound systems.

Mr. Haji Ahmed Solangi media coordinator campus introduced the resource person to the audience. Dr. Abdul Qadir Patoli, Head of the Department of Accounting and Finance, and Dr. Kirshan Kumar Lohana, Head of the Department of Computer Science, attended the session along with faculty members. Mr. Dileep Kumar, Assistant Professor and Incharge of the Computer Lab, provided technical support with his team of volunteers.

Dr. Kirshan Kumar Lohana moderated the session, while Dr. Abdul Qadir Patoli delivered the vote of thanks to the trainer, technical team, moderators, volunteers, and students.
