📢 Important Update from HEC – GRE/HAT Policy (for MS/ PhD admissions) Deferred to Fall 2027

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has extended the deadline for implementing mandatory GRE/HAT-General (for Level 7) and GRE/HAT-Subject (for Level 8) for MS & PhD admissions respectively through the Education Testing Council (ETC).

✅ New effective date: Fall 2027 admissions
⏪ Previous effective date: Fall 2026

This decision follows requests from several universities/DAIs seeking additional time for implementation.

🔗 Universities and students can plan accordingly. Admissions for Fall 2026 will NOT require ETC-based GRE/HAT as per this new notification.

✅ HAT (General for MS/M.Phil) is mandatory to be conducted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

📅 Upcoming Test Date:
🗓 05 July 2026 (across Pakistan) for Fall 2026 admissions.
