Initiatives have been taken to introduce in vitro biotechnology for the induction of stress tolerance in important crops and to transfer them to the stressed environment for commercialization. It further aims to devise protocols for mass propagation of important plant species to overcome deforestation, environmenal degradation, preservation of biodiversity, endanagerd and medicinal species. The graduates will have the opportunities to be absorbed in an array of professional groups including agriculture, health, education, industry, veterinary, medical and environmental sectors. At the moment there is an excellent market at home and abroad for the graduates.
