The English Literary Society is delighted to share that a delegation from Government Post Graduate College No 1 Abbottabad participated in the Model United Nations (MUN) hosted by Army Burn Hall College for Boys, Abbottabad. Our delegation showcased exceptional professionalism, especially Quratulain (BS English, 7th Semester) and Hassanullah (BS Pak Studies, 7th Semester), earning them "special mention" in their respective committees. Most Importantly, the President of ELS, Anas Sher Muhammad (BS English, 7th Semester) was honored with the esteemed "Outstanding Diplomat" award. He was representing the Republic of France in UNSC. This indeed brings immense pride to our College.
The competition took place from February 2nd to 4th, with approximately 22 participating institutions from across the nation, including PMA, Roots, Beacon House, APS, Islamia College Peshawar, as well as military and cadet colleges.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Hisham Tanvir (BS Political Science, 7th Semester) for his valuable mentorship, drawing from his wealth of experience and exceptional debating skills. Him not being able to participate due to chairing a committee at MUN, serves as an additional source of pride for us.
With this, ELS also intends to establish a Debating Society in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, aiming to nurture the raw talent within our institution. We eagerly anticipate a promising time ahead.
