Faculty of Engineering Vision Moot 2026 Held at CUI Islamabad Campus
The Faculty of Engineering Vision Moot 2026 was held on September 2, 2026, at COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Islamabad Campus, bringing together the Dean, Chairpersons of the Departments of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering, along with senior faculty members.
The moot provided a strategic platform for reflection, consultation, and forward-looking discussions on strengthening engineering education, enhancing graduate employability, promoting innovation, and establishing stronger linkages between academia and industry.
The proceedings comprised seven thematic sessions, focusing on key areas critical to the future development of engineering education:
1. Capstone-to-Incubation Funnel Model – transforming Final Year Projects (FYPs) into innovative solutions, startups, and entrepreneurial ventures.
2. Academic–Industry Collaboration – strengthening university–industry linkages through joint projects, internships, research, technology transfer, and professional engagement.
3. Competency Mapping and Technical Portfolios – aligning graduate competencies with industry requirements and developing evidence-based technical portfolios.
4. Professional Certifications and Skills Training – encouraging faculty and students to acquire industry-recognized professional certifications and market-relevant skills.
5. Lifelong Learning, Microcredentials and Global Visibility – promoting continuous professional development, microcredentials, international recognition, and global engagement.
6. Communication Across the Curriculum – integrating communication, presentation, technical writing, teamwork, and interpersonal skills across engineering curricula.
7. Quality of Education – discussing measures to enhance teaching and learning quality, academic standards, student outcomes, faculty development, and continuous improvement.
The discussions emphasized the need to move beyond conventional academic models toward an outcome-oriented, industry-responsive, innovation-driven, and globally connected engineering education ecosystem. Participants shared valuable insights and recommendations for translating the vision into actionable initiatives at the faculty and departmental levels.
The Faculty of Engineering Vision Moot 2026 concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening academic excellence, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, enhancing industry engagement, and preparing engineering graduates with the competencies required to succeed in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
