🚀 Seminar on Advancements in Space Science & Technology: Lessons and Opportunities for Pakistan 🌍🛰️
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, organized a highly informative seminar titled "Advancements in Space Science & Technology: Lessons and Opportunities for Pakistan."
The seminar was delivered by Brig. Dr. Syed Adnan Qasim and Dr. Raees Fida Swati from the Institute of Space Technology (IST), who shared valuable insights into recent developments in space science, satellite technologies, remote sensing, space exploration, and emerging trends shaping the global space industry.
The distinguished speakers highlighted Pakistan’s growing role in the space sector and discussed the challenges, opportunities, and strategic initiatives required to strengthen the country’s capabilities in space technology. They emphasized the importance of research, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration in developing a skilled workforce capable of contributing to future space missions and technological advancements.
The guests were warmly welcomed by Dr. Shahid Khattak, Dean Faculty of Engineering, and the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, who appreciated the valuable contribution of the speakers and stressed the significance of exposing students to emerging fields such as space science and technology.

The Department of Electrical Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, successfully organized an insightful seminar titled "Engineer, Build and Lead: PCB Hardware and Software Design, Career Opportunities", delivered by our distinguished alumnus, Engr. Hamza Bin Shafique.

During the seminar, Engr. Hamza shared his inspiring professional journey and provided valuable insights into the field of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) hardware and software design. He discussed the practical skills, industry standards, and emerging technologies that are shaping the future of the electronics and embedded systems industry.

🎓 Closing Ceremony of “Deep Learning Unlocked: 5-Days Hands-on Workshop using Google Colab” 🚀

The Department of Electrical Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, successfully concluded the workshop titled “Deep Learning Unlocked: 5-Days Hands-on Workshop using Google Colab.”

The closing ceremony was graced by the worthy Director of Campus, Professor Dr. Zakir Hussain, the respected Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Professor Dr. Irfan Ullah, along with senior faculty members.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from undergraduate and graduate students of the Departments of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Computer Science. Throughout the five days, participants gained valuable hands-on experience in deep learning using Google Colab, exploring modern AI techniques and practical applications.

During the ceremony, the Director highlighted the importance of organizing such initiatives and appreciated the department’s efforts in promoting skill development and innovation. He also emphasized strengthening collaborations with other universities to arrange workshops and training activities focused on emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

The HoD Electrical Engineering appreciated the dedicated contributions of the resource persons Dr. Ahmad Saeed Khattak and Dr. Shoaib Azmat, as well as the faculty coordinator Engr. Saima Habib, for successfully conducting the workshop. He also acknowledged the enthusiastic participation and engagement of students from diverse departments.

The event concluded on a high note, reflecting the department’s commitment to promoting practical learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and innovation-driven education.
