Pakistan enters a new era of forensic dentistry
🦷 A newly launched national body is now aiming to bring dental science directly into Pakistan’s justice and medicolegal system — from disaster victim identification to criminal investigations and medical negligence cases.
The newly registered Pakistan Association of Forensic Odontology (PAFO), led by Pakistan’s first qualified forensic odontologist Dr Humayoun Temoor Baig, has officially opened registrations for dentists, researchers, forensic experts, and students across the country.
😮 Dr Baig previously led dental identification operations during the tragic PIA Flight PK-661 crash and worked on major forensic investigations in Pakistan.
PAFO says it plans to:
✔️ Standardize forensic dental practices
✔️ Strengthen dental evidence in courts
✔️ Train professionals & law enforcement
✔️ Push forensic odontology into mainstream dental education
