On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and dignity of women—recognising Islam has been honoring women for over 1400 years. Long before the world spoke of women’s rights, Islam gave women their rightful place—honored, valued, and protected. The Qur’an itself uplifts women, dedicating an entire chapter, Surah An-Nisa (The Women), to their rights and status. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was a champion of women, teaching that the best of men are those who treat their wives with kindness and that paradise lies under the feet of mothers. A woman in Islam is not just respected—she is a cornerstone of faith, a nurturer of generations, and a reflection of divine wisdom.
Women in Islam are not waiting to be empowered—they already have their God-given rights. From Khadijah (RA), the pioneering businesswoman who stood beside the Prophet ﷺ, to Aisha (RA), the scholar whose knowledge shaped generations, women have always been leaders, thinkers, and change-makers. Their voices are not just heard—they are etched in history, honored in scripture, and cherished in faith.
Today, as the world acknowledges the strength of women, Islam reminds us: A woman’s worth is not granted by society—it is divinely ordained. Her faith is her power, her wisdom is her strength, and her presence is a testament to the honor Islam has always given her.
