Want to join our online edit-a-thon but don't know where to start? It’s not just about writing articles! You can contribute your skills in writing, translation, photography, or linguistics across different Wiki projects.

Here is your easy 3-step guide on how to help celebrate our local heroines this Women’s Month.

📖 1. WIKIPEDIA (Writing & Translating)
This is for the storytellers and researchers.

Edit: Find an existing page for a famous Zamboangueña and add missing information, citations, or references.

Create: Start a new page for a notable Zamboangueña who is missing from the encyclopedia (remember to use reliable sources!).

Translate: Translate existing English pages into Chavacano, or vice versa! Help her story reach a global audience.

🗣️ 2. WIKTIONARY (Words & Language)
This is for the linguists and speakers of Chavacano or local languages.

Add Terms: Contribute Chavacano words related to women, leadership, or culture.

Define: Write definitions, pronunciations, and example sentences in local contexts.

Translate: Link Chavacano words to their English or Tagalog equivalents.

📸 3. WIKIMEDIA COMMONS (Photos & Media)
This is for the photographers, artists, and archival keepers.

Upload Photos: Do you have original photos of notable Zamboangueñas, local landmarks named after women, or cultural artifacts? Upload them! (They must be your own work or in the public domain).

Illustrate Articles: Once your photo is uploaded, it can be used to illustrate the Wikipedia articles we are creating!

Under the project Wiki Documents Bengal Terracotta, the WBUG-West Bengal Wikimedians User Group has been bridging the gap between researchers studying the terracotta panels of South Asia's temples and Wikimedia Commons.

Covered with intricate images of humans and animals, depicting mythological scenes and local folklore, the panels can be challenging to document. To achieve results, the volunteers have combined the efforts of photographers and researchers to make the registers more accessible and easily found.

The Wikimedians have also collaborated with academics and history professors in the field. So far, the team has completed photographing six temples, pushing the research forward with creativity and resilience.

On this day in 2001, Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger debuted , transforming global access to information!
What began as Nupedia was rebranded using "wiki" technology and saw explosive growth, reaching 20,000 entries in just one year.
Today, despite addressing issues such as bias and accuracy, the platform hosts more than 7 million English articles, all of which are maintained entirely by volunteers, serving as a digital-age successor to traditional encyclopedias.
