Here’s how she should do Tawbah properly in this situation:
1. 🛑 Stop the wrongdoing immediately
Delete the Facebook post
Stop repeating or defending the accusation
No delay—this is the first step.
2. 💔 Feel real regret
Not “because of consequences,” but:
“I wronged my husband and disobeyed Allah”
Without real regret, repentance is weak.
3. 🧭 Make a firm intention not to repeat it
She must sincerely decide:
No more public shaming
No more accusations without proof
4. ⚖️ Restore your rights (this is critical)
Because she harmed you publicly, she must:
✔️ A. Apologize to you directly
Privately and sincerely
No excuses, no blaming
✔️ B. Correct it publicly
If the lie was posted publicly, she should:
Post a clear correction
Admit the statement was wrong or unverified
Restore your name
This step is not optional—this is what many people skip, and it’s why the sin remains heavy.
5. 🤲 Ask Allah for forgiveness
She should say often:
Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilayh
And make du‘a sincerely:
Asking Allah to forgive her and repair the harm
6. 🧎♀️ Do good deeds to erase the sin
Extra prayers
Charity
Kindness toward you
Good deeds help erase sins, but they don’t replace fixing your rights
⚠️ Important reality
If she does not:
Apologize
Or correct the false post
Then on Yawm al-Qiyamah:
You can take from her good deeds
Or she may carry your sins
