𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: 𝐖𝐌𝐔 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡

The WMSU Moot Court Union (WMU) has officially commenced its Monthly Training Sessions, aimed at exploring and honing the potential of its members through speech delivery, debate and argumentation, and motion refinement—all in pursuit of growth, competence, and readiness for future competitions.

These training sessions were held on January 24, 2026 and February 7, 2026, at the WMSU College of Law, in line with the Union’s commitment to continuously push its members toward excellence and deepen their passion for advocacy and future representations.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the WMSU College of Law Administration, led by Dean Irma Medalle, and to Mr. Mark Infante, Law Student Association (LSA) President, for their unwavering support to the Union.

Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to our ever-dedicated Coach and Mentor, Atty. Arnold C. Bucoy, for his guidance and commitment in shaping competent and confident advocates.

Special thanks as well to Atty. Zarah Denise Rosos, an alumna of the WMSU College of Law, for her invaluable guidance and mentorship during the January training sessions.

The WMSU Moot Court Union (WMU) proudly commends its members for their unwavering dedication, hard work, and passion as demonstrated in our Monthly Training Sessions.

The Speakers of the Month distinction is awarded to recognize the remarkable growth, consistency, and commitment of our members, qualities that strengthen the Union and prepare them for future competitions and legal endeavors. This initiative reflects WMU’s steadfast commitment to forging excellent, disciplined, and dedicated advocates from the WMSU College of Law.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 (𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓)

The Persons and Family Relations Debates, held on December 13, 2025, provided a dynamic platform for first-year law students to demonstrate their understanding of fundamental legal principles through rigorous and thoughtful discourse. The activity brought together debaters from the JD 1-A, JD 1-B, and JD 1-C Contingents, highlighting both advocacy skills and substantive legal knowledge.

This academic undertaking was made possible through the partnership with the WMSU Moot Court Union, the guidance and support of Atty. Arnold C. Bucoy, its moderator and professor of Persons and Family Relations, and the continued support of the Dean of the WMSU College of Law, Atty. Irma Mari Medalle-Rivero, whose encouragement and guidance helped ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event.

The debate concluded with JD 1-A Contingent Team 2, composed of Dorothy Muyargas, Sharamie Nagdar, and Ranz Louie Jasminez, emerging as the winners of the tournament. Special recognition is also extended to Sharamie Nagdar, who was adjudged Best Speaker of the Tournament for her outstanding performance.
