𝐒𝐞𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐚: 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭, 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐝

The Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’ informs the public that the 𝑫𝒂𝒚 𝒐𝒇 ‘𝑨𝒔𝒉𝒖𝒓𝒂’ –𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝟏𝟎𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒖𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒎, 𝟏𝟒𝟒𝟖 𝑨𝑯 –will fall, by Allah’s will, on 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

This day commemorates the salvation of Prophet Musa (Moses), peace be upon him, and his people from Pharaoh.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ observed fasting on this day and encouraged Muslims to do so, saying: “We are more entitled to Musa than you” [Muslim]. and he said: “Fasting the Day of ‘Āshūrā’, I hope from Allāh that it will expiate (the sins of) the previous year.” [Muslim and Ibn Mājah].

It is recommended (mustahabb) to fast on the Day of ‘Ashura, as well as the 𝗻𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗺, which falls on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, based on the Prophet’s ﷺ intention to do so in his final year.

We encourage the community to observe these days through fasting and worship, seeking Allah’s mercy and reward.

𝐃𝐔'𝐀 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐈𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐂 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇/𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑

اللَّهُمَّ أَدْخِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْأَمْنِ وَالْإِيْمَانِ، وَالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ ، وَجِوَارٍ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ، وَرِضْوَانٍ مِنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ

𝗢 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵, 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 (𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵/𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿) 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘂𝗽𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗳, 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗺, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝘆𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗹-𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹.

—𝘔𝘶 𝘫𝘢𝘮 𝘢𝘭-Ş𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘩 𝘣𝘺 𝘢𝘭-𝘉𝘢𝘨𝘩𝘢𝘸𝘪

May this new Hijri 1448 AH bring barakah, peace, and countless answered du‘ās. Ya Allah, write goodness for us in every chapter ahead. 🌙🤍

This is the beginning of a new Hijri year, may this serve as a reminder of renewal, gratitude, and steadfastness in faith. Let us begin this year with sincere repentance, righteous intentions, and trust in Allah’s perfect plan.

Take this moment as an opportunity to Supplicate to Allah using this Du’a:

‎اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ هَذِهِ السَّنَةَ سَنَةَ خَيْرٍ وَبَرَكَةٍ وَهُدًى وَتَقْوَى، وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَثَبِّتْ قُلُوبَنَا عَلَى دِينِكَ.

Allahumma-j’al hadhihis-sanata sanata khayrin wa barakatin wa hudan wa taqwa, waghfir lana dhunubana wa thabbit qulubana ’ala dinik.

O Allah, make this year a year of goodness, blessings, guidance, and piety. Forgive our sins and keep our hearts firm upon Your religion.

As we gather for Salatul Eid tomorrow, let us fill our hearts with gratitude, sincerity, and humility before Allah swt. May our sujood be filled with thankfulness, our tongues with dhikr, and our hearts united in faith and brotherhood. Even for those who are unable to perform Salatul Eid, may Allah swt accept your intentions, prayers, and sacrifices.

تَقَبَّلَ اللَّهُ مِنَّا وَمِنْكُمْ، اللَّهُمَّ أَصْلِحْ أَحْوَالَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي كُلِّ مَكَانٍ
Taqabbalallāhu minnā wa minkum, Allāhumma aṣliḥ aḥwāla al-muslimīna fī kulli makān.

Tomorrow marks the beautiful Day of Arafah (the 9th of Dhul Hijjah), which is widely cherished as the most blessed day of the entire year. While millions of Hajj pilgrims gather in unity on the plains of Mount Arafat to stand before Allah in deep prayer, those of us at home are gifted an incredible, parallel window of divine mercy, intense forgiveness, and answered supplications that we cannot afford to miss.

Let's encourage our families, friends, and communities to wake up for Suhoor, intend to fast, and fully utilize these precious hours.
