CHARTING NEW PATHS | SMA Conducts Benchmarking and Research on Potential AdZU Business and Allied Medicine Programs

The AdZU School of Management and Accountancy (SMA) visited the University of San Agustin as part of a feasibility study being conducted by the College on the viability of potential AdZU programs in the fields of Allied Medicine, as well as on opportunities for strengthening existing business programs such as Business Administration and Accountancy.

During the benchmarking activity, the team met with Dr. James Torres, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Medical Technology; Mr. Louie Hijalda, representative from the Office for Professional Development and Continuing Education; Mr. Jose Perez, Academic Supervisor for Medical Technology; and Dr. Antonio Junio, Graduate School Coordinator for the College of Business. The discussions covered instructional approaches, business models, best practices, and the challenges in delivering high-quality medical and business education.

Mr. Perez, who happens to also be an AdZU alumnus, also spent time to tour the AdZU team around campus and walk them through all their laboratories and equipment used in the Medical Technology and Pharmacy Programs.

The data gathered by the SMA team will be analyzed, consolidated, and presented to the AdZU Administration to support institutional discernment and decision-making regarding the opening of new programs and the enhancement of existing ones.

The SMA team expresses its appreciation for the support of the AdZU Higher Education Administration in facilitating this benchmarking activity.
