As part of our school's commitment to disaster preparedness and safety, Zamboanga City High School will serve as the Pilot Site for the 2nd Quarter 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗪𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗦𝗜𝗠𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗢𝗨𝗦 𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗟𝗟 (NSED) on June 18, 2026 (Thursday), at exactly 9:00 A.M. Participants will be the Grades 7, 9, and 11.

📌 Important Reminders:
✅ Stay calm and follow the Duck, Cover, and Hold procedure during the earthquake alarm.
✅ Listen carefully to the instructions of your teachers, class officers, and emergency responders.
✅ Proceed to designated evacuation areas in an orderly manner.
✅ Do not run, push, or create panic during the drill.
✅ Some participants may act as injured persons as part of the simulation. Please cooperate and avoid unnecessary distractions.
✅ Treat the activity seriously as it is designed to enhance our preparedness for real emergencies.

Leadership and determination shone brightly as our very own Huey Foebict C. Sebastian, President of the Zamboanga City High School Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) and Division Federation Supreme Secondary Learner Government (DFSSLG), proudly represented SDO Zamboanga City alongside his co-Division Federated officers, during the Zamboanga Peninsula Environmental Encampment (ZPEE) 2026 held at Manuel Resort, Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte ⛵.

Through active participation in environmental workshops, seminars, leadership activities, and collaborative engagements with other division officers, Huey truly exemplified the values of a leader committed to both service and environmental stewardship who continues to inspire fellow learners to becoming active advocates for positive change and spark a sense of environmental responsibility 💚🌳.

May these young leaders from SDO Zamboanga City may continue to inspire us to lead with purpose, inspire with action, and create a lasting impact for the youth and the environment. 💚🌏

Sa bawat watawat na itinataas, isang tanong sa isipan ang laging umaalpas: 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗼 𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮?

Ngayong Araw ng Kalayaan, hindi lamang natin ginugunita ang tagumpay ng ating mga bayani 128 taon na ang nakalipas, kundi pinagninilayan din ang kalagayan ng ating bansa ngayon.

𝕯𝖆𝖍𝖎𝖑 𝖆𝖓𝖌 𝖐𝖆𝖑𝖆𝖞𝖆𝖆𝖓 𝖆𝖞 𝖍𝖎𝖓𝖉𝖎 𝖑𝖆𝖒𝖆𝖓𝖌 𝖆𝖑𝖆𝖆𝖑𝖆 𝖓𝖌 𝖓𝖆𝖐𝖆𝖗𝖆𝖆𝖓—𝖎𝖙𝖔 𝖆𝖞 𝖎𝖘𝖆𝖓𝖌 𝖕𝖆𝖓𝖆𝖜𝖆𝖌𝖆𝖓 𝖕𝖆𝖗𝖆 𝖘𝖆 𝖐𝖆𝖘𝖆𝖑𝖚𝖐𝖚𝖞𝖆𝖓.

Ang ating kalayaan ay hindi lamang tungkol sa paglaya mula sa pananakop. Ito rin ay tungkol sa pagkakaroon ng tapang na manindigan para sa tama at maghangad ng isang mas maayos na bansa. Kapag mas pinili nating sambahin ang mga politiko kaysa suriin ang kanilang gawa, kalayaan din ang nawawala. Sapagkat ano pa ang halaga ng kalayaan kung natatakot naman tayong ipaglaban ang katotohanan?

Ang kalayaan ay nakikita sa bawat mamamayang may lakas ng loob na magtanong, makinig, at mag-isip para sa sarili. Ito ay nasasalamin sa mga kabataang hindi basta-basta nagpapadala sa impluwensiya ng popularidad, kundi pinipiling unawain ang katotohanan at kumilos nang may integridad. Ang pagiging malaya ay hindi lamang karapatang magsalita, kundi pananagutang gamitin ang ating tinig para sa kabutihang panlahat.

Sa paggunita natin sa sakripisyo ng mga bayaning nag-alay ng kanilang buhay para sa ating bayan, nawa'y hindi lamang tayo maging tagapagmana ng kanilang ipinaglaban, kundi maging tagapangalaga rin ng kalayaang kanilang ipinamana.

Ngayong ika-12 ng Hunyo, itaas natin ang ating watawat nang may dangal, paggalang, at kamalayan. Sapagkat ang tunay na kalayaan ay hindi lamang ipinagdiriwang—ito ay patuloy na ipinaglalaban 🇵🇭.

📻 𝕱𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒: 𝕽𝐄𝐂𝐀𝐏 🫨

From the first Flag Ceremony of the year to the bustling hallways filled with familiar and unfamiliar faces, the first day of School Year 2026–2027 at 𝖅𝖆𝖒𝖇𝖔𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖆 𝕮𝖎𝖙𝖞 𝕳𝖎𝖌𝖍 𝕾𝖈𝖍𝖔𝖔𝖑 was both 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲-𝘄𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 at the same time 😫.

The day started off with a blast 💥 as the SSLG officers warmly welcomed the students back to the campus, met the first seven 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐬, gave out 𝐭𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐬, and challenged Lampians with fun 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 during the Flag Ceremony Program.

𝓘𝓽 𝔀𝓪𝓼 𝓪𝓵𝓵 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝔀𝓮𝓵𝓵, not until after the students found their way inside their classrooms, sudden shouts of worry spread across the corridors as an unexpected Earthquake struck; leading to students, staff, and teachers worrying for each other's safety.

The SSLG officers along with the school's security staff and personnel got immediately 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 💨 and managed to gather the students at the flag pole area safely ⛑️ with our School Principal on-site who was making sure everyone was safe and the buildings were secure. Minutes after the Earthquake, the City Mayor announced class suspension to all grade levels, resulting to students immediately heading towards their respective homes.

Truly, yesterday's events was a 𝖘𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖓𝖌 𝖘𝖙𝖆𝖗𝖙 for S.Y. 2026-2027 and it will surely go down in history. As we closed out the eventful day, we remind all Lampians to stay alert, stay vigilant, and prioritize your safety. Wait for further advisories as the students' welfare will always be our top priority 💙.
