🎉 DOST-9 Regional Science and Technology Week 2024 🎉

We are proud to share that our second-year BSIT Garments and Textile Technology students were invited to participate in the 2024 Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) organized by DOST-9, held from November 20-22 at the Western Mindanao State University, Juanito Bruno gymnasium.

With the theme “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Inobasyon: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” this three-day event emphasized the pivotal role of science, technology, and innovation in driving regional and national development.

Our students attended the "Vibrant Hues of Heritage: Abaca Natural Dyeing Workshop" on the second day, where they learned the artistry and techniques behind natural dyeing processes using abaca fibers. The hands-on experience deepened their appreciation for sustainable practices and the importance of preserving cultural heritage in fashion and textiles.

The Faculty and students also explored various exhibits showcasing groundbreaking innovations in science and technology, making the event a truly inspiring and educational experience.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to DOST-9 for this opportunity to broaden our students' knowledge and expose them to cutting-edge developments in their field. Events like this not only enhance their skills but also ignite their passion for innovation and sustainability.

On the first day of their lesson in Designing through Draping, Ms. Roselyn Ayensa introduced the techniques to our second-year students. With fabrics in hand, each group got to work, experimenting with their designs. By the next session, they completed their creative draping outputs, showcasing their talent and hard work!
