The College of Engineering and Technology (𝑪𝑬𝑻) successfully held 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒄𝒖𝒂 𝒏𝒂 𝑪𝑬𝑻 2025, a festive celebration that brought together students, faculty, and staff in the spirit of Christmas, unity, and creativity. The event was smoothly hosted by 𝑹𝒊𝒄𝒎𝒆𝒍 𝑩. 𝑨𝒎𝒊𝒂𝒔 and 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒋𝒐𝒚 𝑫. 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒈, who served as the Masters of Ceremony for the evening.

Program Highlights

The program officially began at 5:00 PM with an entourage, setting a warm and festive tone for the celebration. This was followed by the Opening Ceremony, which included the Prayer, National Anthem, Zamboanga Hermosa Hymn, and the ZPPSU Hymn.

At 5:30 PM, the audience was welcomed through the Welcome Remarks delivered by 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒓. 𝑱𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒇𝒆𝒓 𝑪. 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒓, CET Dean.

An Introduction Number was presented by the STEO Officers A.Y. 2025–2026, showcasing their enthusiasm and leadership. The excitement continued with the Pascua na CET Preliminary Judging, led by the panel of judges.

𝑱𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒍𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏

One of the most anticipated parts of the event was the Jingle Competition, where participants displayed musical talent, creativity, and teamwork while incorporating their respective fields of study:

A Celebration to Remember
𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒄𝒖𝒂 𝒏𝒂 𝑪𝑬𝑻 2023 was a meaningful celebration that showcased not only the talents and creativity of 𝑪𝑬𝑻 students but also the strong sense of camaraderie and holiday spirit within the college.

𝑮𝑬112 concluded its culminating activity themed “𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝑹𝒐𝒐𝒕𝒔: 𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝑻𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒐.” last December 5, 2025 at the Angara Building. The program highlighted the cultural richness of Mindanao through student-led presentations representing various indigenous groups.

The culminating activity featured cultural presentations from several class sections. ADT 1D showcased the traditions of the Maranao people, while CLT 1B and CT 1C presented the Tausug culture. ADT 1B highlighted the Subanon tribe, followed by CLT 1D, which represented the Yakan community. The Sama culture was presented by AFT 1A and PPT 1C.

The performances were evaluated by a panel of judges composed of 𝑴𝒔. 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒉, 𝑴𝒔. 𝑬𝒊𝒃𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒎 𝑺𝒂𝒉𝒅𝒖𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒓. 𝑩𝒓𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝑳𝒐𝒖𝒊𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒈𝒂. Each group was assessed based on cultural accuracy, creativity, delivery, and overall impact.

Based on the judges’ consolidated scores, 𝑨𝑭𝑻 1𝑨 and 𝑷𝑷𝑻 1𝑪 emerged as first placer with a total score of 95.66 percent, followed by 𝑨𝑫𝑻 1𝑫 in second place with 94 percent. 𝑪𝑳𝑻 1𝑫 secured third place with 92.66 percent, while 𝑪𝑳𝑻 1𝑩 and 𝑪𝑻 1𝑪 placed fourth with 90.33 percent. 𝑨𝑫𝑻 1𝑩 finished in fifth place, earning 86.33 percent.

The 𝑮𝑬112 culminating activity served as both an academic and cultural platform, reinforcing the importance of preserving indigenous heritage while enabling students to apply historical learning through creative and collaborative presentation

𝙂𝙀115 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙚𝙘𝙝 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙞𝙧 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙨 𝙋𝙋𝙏 𝙖𝙨 𝙏𝙤𝙥 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙧

Students from GE115 held a speech choir competition titled “𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒈𝒆, 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒆” on Saturday at the Anggara Building, 4th Floor, as part of the course’s academic activities.

The event began with a gathering at 9:30 a.m., followed by speech choir presentations from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Three groups—ADT, CT, and PPT—took part in the competition, delivering performances centered on themes of freedom, oppression, and collective expression. ADT opened the presentations, CT followed, and PPT performed last.

The activity was organized by 𝑴𝒔. 𝑳𝒆𝒂 𝑨. 𝑴𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒉 with the support of committees from PPT, ADT, and CT. Afternoon activities, which ran from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., were hosted by 𝑹𝒆𝒚 𝑽𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑪. 𝑨𝒑𝒊𝒂𝒅𝒐 and 𝑭𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒙 𝑺𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒂𝒏, and formally opened with welcome remarks from 𝑴𝒔. 𝑳𝒆𝒂 𝑨. 𝑴𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒉.

The performances were evaluated by a panel of judges composed of 𝑴𝒓. 𝑩𝒓𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝑳𝒐𝒖𝒊𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒈𝒂, 𝑳𝑷𝑻; 𝑴𝒔. 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑨. 𝑴𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒉, 𝑴𝑷𝑨; 𝑴𝒓. 𝑨𝒍-𝑩𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒓 𝑨𝒃𝒅𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂; 𝑴𝒔. 𝑱𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒚𝒏 𝑱𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒍, 𝑳𝑷𝑻; and 𝑴𝒔. 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒂 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒒𝒆𝒆𝒏𝒂 𝑻𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒈, 𝑳𝑷𝑻.

At the conclusion of the event, winners were announced based on the judges’ scores. Civil Technology (𝑪𝑻) placed third with a score of 87.2 percent, while Architectural Drafting Technology (𝑨𝑫𝑻) secured second place with 92.8 percent. Power Plant Technology (𝑷𝑷𝑻) emerged as first placer, earning the highest score of 98.6 percent.

The speech choir activity underscored the use of collective performance as a platform for academic expression and critical reflection among 𝑮𝑬115 students.

With the theme “𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆: 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑼𝒓𝒃𝒂𝒏 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑫𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝑽𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒔,” the Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (𝒁𝑷𝑷𝑺𝑼) finished its 𝒇𝒊𝒗𝒆-𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑯𝑨𝑷𝑨𝑮 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 last 𝑵𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 17 𝒕𝒐 21 at the Metals Engineering and Innovation Center, led by the Extension Management Office (𝑬𝑴𝑶) and the College of Engineering and Technology (𝑪𝑬𝑻).

Participants from 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒚 𝑲𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒏 shared that the training gave them the confidence to start their own small gardens. They were thankful for the easy and practical methods they learned, saying the program showed them that gardening is possible even in small or crowded spaces.

The five-day program also highlighted a lineup of speakers who led each day’s session. Each day featured a different expert who shared insights and hands-on guidance with the participants:

CET Dean 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒓. 𝑱𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒇𝒆𝒓 𝑪. 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒓 said that the college will continue supporting community programs like this, as they help build stronger and more independent families in urban areas.

The program taught simple gardening skills—like preparing soil, choosing the right vegetables, and knowing when to harvest—to help families grow their own food at home. This is one of 𝒁𝑷𝑷𝑺𝑼’s efforts to bring useful and livelihood-ready skills to local communities.
