Today,𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 21,2026 we commemorate 𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝗮𝘆, honoring the life, courage, and sacrifice of Benigno Ninoy Aquino Jr, a Filipino leader whose unwavering commitment to democracy and freedom left a lasting mark on our nation.

Ninoy stood for the belief that every 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤, 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐝. His courage in facing challenges and standing firm for what he believed was right became an important part of Philippine history.

His famous words, “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫” continue to remind us of his deep love for the Filipino people and his belief in the strength and potential of our nation.

On this day of remembrance, may we not only honor Ninoy Aquino for his sacrifice but also reflect on the values he stood for 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞, 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦, 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲, 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲. This measure is in line with the Zamboanga City-wide anti-dengue operations and the current extreme heat index.

Please stay hydrated, practice necessary safety precautions, and keep safe everyone.

AVISO PUBLICO| Classes at all levels, both public and private schools in the city, REMAIN SUSPENDED on Thursday, August 20, 2026, to give way for the conduct of campus-wide anti-dengue measures amid the dengue epidemic declaration in the city.

The suspension is also due to the high heat index which hits extreme caution level per latest PAGASA bulletin.

Nonetheless, government services and business operations continue as usual.

School authorities are advised to use other learning modalities to ensure continuous education despite class interruptions.

The public is continuously advised to practice safety measures amid the dangerously high heat index.

DAY OF MOURNING AND SUSPENSION OF CLASSES ON AUGUST 19, 2026

August 18, 2026 was a very, very sad and tragic day for Zambamga City. Two young students died in the shooting incident that happened early this morning at the Ateneo de Zamboanga campus in Barangay Tumaga .

The City Government of Zamboanga mourns with profound sadness the tragic loss of two young lives.

We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families, loved ones, classmates, teachers, and the entire school community. Our hearts are with you in this time of unimaginable grief.

We appeal to everyone to remain calm and compassionate, refrain from spreading unverified information, and allow the proper authorities to conduct a thorough investigation. The City Government will continue to work closely with law enforcement and concerned agencies to ensure that the safety and well-being of our students and our community remain our highest priority.

As a solemn expression of our collective grief and respect for the lives lost, classes at all levels in all public and private academic institutions in Zamboanga City are SUSPENDED on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 19, 2026 which shall be observed as a DAY OF MOURNING.

Let us use this day to grieve, pray, and reflect on our shared responsibility to protect our children and uphold the sanctity of life.

To the bereaved families, we grieve with you. Zamboanga City stands with you in this painful moment.

Please be informed that face-to-face classes at our school are suspended this Monday, August 17, 2026, due to a dangerous heat index of 41 degrees Celsius.

Per recommendation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private schools in Zamboanga City, are SUSPENDED on Monday, August 17, 2026, due to the expected high heat index.

Based on the latest PAGASA Heat Index Bulletin, Zamboanga City’s heat index is forecast to reach 41°C on Monday, August 17.

However, business operations, government services, and work in both the public and private sectors will continue as usual.

Please be guided accordingly and stay safe.

The ZPPSU SHS Laboratory Department Student Executive Council (SEC) is honored to have taken part in the ZPPSU 3 Days Leadership Congress 2026 organized by the University Student Council.

For three days beginning July 23, we joined fellow student leaders from across the university in meaningful sessions focused on 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞. We took part in 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐬, 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 that challenged us to lead with integrity and purpose.

One of the most valuable experiences was the seminar with 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚, 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃.It gave us a wider view of how student leadership can create impact beyond our campus.

We return with renewed energy, new knowledge, and a stronger commitment to serve the SHS Laboratory Department with responsibility and excellence.
