Tomorrow is the 9th of Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH — the greatest day of the year.

🕋 A Day of Mercy, Forgiveness & Du'a
The Prophet ﷺ said: "There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than on the Day of Arafah." Sahih Muslim

Whether you’re on Hajj in Arafat or at home, let’s fill this day with sincere repentance, dhikr, and heartfelt du’a. Fasting on this day expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year, for those not performing Hajj.

May Allah accept our deeds, forgive our sins, and grant us all a place in Jannah. 🤲

Today, 8 Dhul Hijjah 1448 AH / May 25, 2026, marks Yawm at-Tarwiyyah — the Day of Tarwiyyah.

It’s the first official day of Hajj rites, when pilgrims head to Mina for the overnight stay before heading to Arafat. A day of reflection, intention, and preparing the heart for the days ahead.

May Allah accept the Hajj of all pilgrims and grant us all the chance to stand on Arafat one day. 🤲

Lakal Hamdu Ya Allah!

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓥𝓲𝓻𝓽𝓾𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓕𝓲𝓻𝓼𝓽 10 𝓓𝓪𝔂𝓼 𝓸𝓯 𝓓𝓱𝓾𝓵 𝓗𝓲𝓳𝓳𝓪𝓱 1447𝓗🌙

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh, Ummah!

1. Allah swears by these days in the Quran.

وَالْفَجْرِ ۝ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ

By the dawn. And by the ten nights.
The scholars, including Ibn Abbas رضي الله عنه, said this refers to the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah.

2. The most beloved days for righteous deeds

مَا مِنْ أَيَّامٍ الْعَمَلُ الصَّالِحُ فِيهِنَّ أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ الْعَشْرِ

The Prophet ﷺ said: "There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days."

3. Yawmul Arafah – Day of Forgiveness

مَا مِنْ يَوْمٍ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ أَنْ يُعْتِقَ اللَّهُ فِيهِ عَبْدًا مِنَ النَّارِ مِنْ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ

The Prophet ﷺ said: _"There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah.

4. Eid al-Adha – The Sunnah of Ibrahim عليه السلام

فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَانْحَرْ

Let us increase in Takbir, Tahleel, Tahmeed, Dhikr, Fasting, Prayer, and Charity in these blessed days.

May Allah accept from us and grant us forgiveness. Ameen.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

﴿وَمَن قَتَلَ نَفْسًا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا﴾ [المائدة: 32]
"Whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind entirely.” [Qur’an 5:32]

The Muslim Youth Council of Zamboanga City joins Cons King Omaga and the entire Zamboanga community in expressing our 𝙙𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙛 and 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 over the tragic law enforcement operation that occurred earlier today, April 23, 2026, in Alas-as, Barangay Sinunuc.

While we recognize the duty of law enforcement to maintain peace and order, the 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙖 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙 and two other individuals, with one wounded, is an 𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙨.

𝙉𝙤 𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩, 𝙣𝙤 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙤 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙪𝙞𝙩 of suspects can justify the shedding of 𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙗𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙙, especially that of a child.

We echo the urgent calls and further demand:

1. 𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 – الشفافية الفورية
The PNP Region 9 must release all 𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮-𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙣 𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙖 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙚 and 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 without delay. The community deserves the 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝.

2. 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 – تحقيق مستقل ونزيه
We call on the Commission on Human Rights, NAPOLCOM, and independent civil society groups to conduct a 𝙨𝙬𝙞𝙛𝙩, 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙗𝙚. Internal review alone is 𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 when a child’s life is taken.

3. 𝙁𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 – المساءلة الكاملة
If 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙣𝙚𝙜𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙚, or 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙡 is proven, those responsible must face the 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 under the law. Justice for the families cannot be 𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙧 𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙚𝙙.

4. 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 – حماية الأطفال
We demand that PNP and AFP review and strictly enforce protocols to ensure that 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚.
"The best of you are those who are best to their families"

and that includes protecting 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙 in our city.

To the bereaved families:
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Our hearts and our du’as are with you. Your pain is the pain of the Ummah.

The Muslim Youth Council of Zamboanga City will 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 while 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙩.

We call upon all youth, leaders, and stakeholders to stand for 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝, 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚.

𝙇𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙡𝙖𝙬 𝙚𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 must never come at the cost of 𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨.

May Allah ﷻ grant the victims mercy, grant the wounded complete 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙛𝙖, grant the families 𝙨𝙖𝙗𝙧, and expose the truth. 𝘼𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙣.

The Muslim Youth Council of Zamboanga City formally announces the appointment of 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐤𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐝 as 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕 of the Council.

نسأل الله تعالى أن يوفقه ويسدده، وأن يجعله عوناً على إقامة العدل والحق، وأن يجعل عمله خالصاً لوجهه الكريم.

During the meeting, 𝙠𝙚𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 were carefully deliberated, ensuring that 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙙 and every decision aligned with our mission. We also discussed and planned 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙨 aimed at empowering the youth, strengthening Islamic values, and expanding our outreach.
