The Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport (ZAMBOECOZONE) joins the nation in observing Ninoy Aquino Day today, August 21.

Chairman and Administrator Raul M. Regondola, DBA, PhTD, pays tribute to the enduring bravery of Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., noting that his conviction that "the Filipino is worth dying for" continues to inspire the Authority's public service mission.

In honoring the ultimate sacrifice that reawakened our nation's pursuit of democracy, Chairman Regondola affirms that selfless dedication is a living commitment and remains a cornerstone of our efforts to foster progress, integrity, and unity.

This commemoration serves as a powerful reminder that if our heroes could stand fearlessly for truth and freedom, then we, too, can overcome modern struggles to build a more just and resilient community.

𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗 │ 𝗭𝗔𝗠𝗕𝗢𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗭𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗭𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲-𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Strengthening territorial defense, disaster preparedness, and crisis management capabilities across Western Mindanao, the Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport (ZAMBOECOZONE) hosted Task Force Zamboanga’s (TFZ) Inter-Agency Exercise on Disaster Preparedness, Crisis Management, and Response on 20 August 2026.

Spearheaded by TFZ under the command of Philippine Army 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division Commander Col. Manaros M. Boransing II, INF (MNSA) PA, the large-scale simulation brought together various security and disaster response units within the economic zone. The exercise aimed to enhance coordination, operational readiness, and inter-agency interoperability through synchronized planning and joint tactical ex*****on. The final exercise on August 20 served as the culmination of comprehensive preparatory activities, which included an initial rehearsal on August 15, as well as controlled live-fire and explosive drills using mortars and rifles to validate real-time operational procedures under strict safety and security protocols.

ZAMBOECOZONE Chairman and Administrator Raul M. Regondola, DBA, PhTD, commended the military and partner agencies for executing a safe and effective exercise, underscoring that strong security is the cornerstone of sustainable economic growth. "Maintaining an uncompromised environment of peace, stability, and emergency readiness is essential to protecting our investments and workforce," Chairman Regondola stated. "By collaborating with Task Force Zamboanga and our national security forces in these rigorous exercises, ZAMBOECOZONE demonstrates that our freeport is not only a hub for commerce and industry, but also a safe, resilient, and well-secured zone prepared to respond swiftly to any crisis or calamity."

AVISO PUBLICO| The public is advised about the conduct of KALASAG-ZC Inter-Agency Territorial Defense Operations Exercise (IATDO-E) on THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, 2026 starting at 7am to 12noon at the Zamboanga Economic Zone and Freeport Authority in San Ramon, barangay Talisayan.

There will be three (3) scenarios that will take place at the waters off the Ecozone seaport, and in some buildings inside the Ecozone complex. The exercise involves live firing and explosives drills.

The exercise, themed “One City, One Mission, One Purpose” aims to strengthen inter-agency coordination and government response for territorial defense, disasters and calamities and crisis management, the advisory stated.

This is purely a simulation exercise and NOT an actual combat operation. The public is advised to remain calm and proceed with normal daily activities.

The Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport (ZAMBOECOZONE) once again concluded the workweek with its Wellness Friday, reaffirming its commitment to fostering a healthy, active, and well-balanced workforce.

Beginning at 03:00 PM, personnel took part in various sports and recreational activities that encouraged physical activity, strengthened camaraderie, and provided an opportunity to recharge after a productive week. Through this initiative, the Authority continues to promote the holistic well-being of its employees—recognizing that a motivated and energized workforce is vital to excellent public service.

While the Wellness Friday activities are ongoing, ZAMBOECOZONE remained steadfast in delivering uninterrupted services to its locators, investors, stakeholders, and the general public. A skeletal workforce arrangement was maintained to ensure that essential operations and frontline services continued efficiently throughout the afternoon.

The Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport (ZAMBOECOZONE) signed a lease agreement with JM2K Fruit Farming on 05 August 2026, paving the way for a new tropical fruit farm that promises to boost the region's agricultural landscape.

The signing ceremony, held at the Mini-Conference Room on the 3rd Floor of the Administration Building in Sitio San Ramon, Talisayan, formalizes the lease of a 6,050-square-meter property located at KM 19, Upper La Paz in the ZAMBOECOZONE Highlands.

Owned by local agri-preneur Jose Maria A. Sta. Teresa and managed by his daughter Kreesha Dyann J. Sta. Teresa, JM2K Fruit Farming will establish a tropical fruit farm that specializes in the cultivation and maintenance of high-value crops, including durian, jackfruit (nangka), mangosteen, coconut, calamansi, lemon, lanzones, and lakatan bananas.

ZAMBOECOZONE Chairman and Administrator Raul M. Regondola, DBA, PhTD, underscored the significance of the initiative and highlighted its impact on local economic development during the signing. "By welcoming dedicated ventures like JM2K Fruit Farming, we are not only maximizing the utility of our land assets, but also creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, promoting food security, and driving inclusive economic growth right here in Zamboanga Peninsula," Chairman Regondola stated.

This latest addition further strengthens the blossoming agriculture, forestry, and eco-tourism industries in the Highlands. The inclusion of diverse crop cultivation and future farm tourism is expected to attract more visitors and investors, cementing the Highlands and the City of Zamboanga’s position as a premier agro-industrial and eco-tourism hub in Western Mindanao. The Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone Authority and Freeport (ZAMBOECOZONE) entered into a lease agreement with SFLI Septic Tank Cleaning and Decomposing Services on Wednesday, 05 August 2026, to establish a domestic wastewater treatment facility at the First Industrial Park.

The contract signing, held at the Mini-Conference Room on the 3rd Floor of the ZAMBOECOZONE Administration Building in Sitio San Ramon, Talisayan, paves the way for the operation of a crucial infrastructure designed to enhance the economic zone's environmental sustainability and waste management initiatives.

Owned and represented by Soledad Lozada Li, SFLI will take over the operation of the domestic wastewater treatment facility, which spans a total system capacity of 600 cubic meters. The facility will be situated within a 365-square-meter property of the economic zone, ensuring proper utility management and compliance with environmental standards for the Authority’s current and future business enterprises.

ZAMBOECOZONE Chairman and Administrator Raul M. Regondola, DBA, PhTD, emphasized the vital role of the partnership in promoting responsible and sustainable industrial growth in the Zamboanga Peninsula region.

"This lease agreement with SFLI marks a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship within the ZAMBOECOZONE," Chairman Regondola said. "By establishing a dedicated wastewater treatment facility, we are not only enhancing our infrastructure to fully support our locators, but we are also ensuring that our economic progress does not come at the expense of our natural resources. Bilang sentro ng pamumuhunan, kinikilala ng ZAMBOECOZONE ang mahalagang papel ng makabagong teknolohiya at ng ating wika upang patuloy na maitaas ang antas ng serbisyo publiko.

Ating pagtibayin ang paggamit ng wikang Filipino at artificial intelligence bilang mga pangunahing kasangkapan upang lalong mapalawak ang mga pananaliksik tungo sa kaunlaran ng bawat Pilipino at ng buong bansang Pilipinas.
