-The expansion of cross-border trade networks in Southeast Asia has significantly enhanced manufacturing capabilities, resulting in substantial job creation and fostering innovation across various sectors. This integration into global markets has enabled countries in the region to leverage comparative advantages, attract foreign direct investment, and diversify their economic activities. However, this growth is accompanied by environmental challenges, including increased pollution and resource depletion, as well as social inequalities that can arise from uneven distribution of economic benefits. Systemic shocks to global trade, such as geopolitical tensions and pandemics, pose additional risks to these economies.
