OFFICIAL STATEMENT

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University is saddened by the incident that happened today on our JHS campus.

As of now, we confirm that there are 2 fatalities. As for other information, we are coordinating with authorities for the full report with full details to be provided as soon as possible.

The safety of our students is our top priority. We have already coordinated with parents and guardians to pick up their children and the university has ensured the safety of those remaining on campus.

We have set up official communication channels and will relay these information to the public as soon as possible. We urge the public to refrain from sharing unverified info, photos, and videos as these will only bring further harm to those involved and may hinder the ongoing investigation of the incident.

In the meantime, we ask everyone to respect the privacy of all affected individuals.

We pray for the quick resolution of the situation and for the safety of all. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

ANNOUNCEMENT | AdZU Grade School Student Release

Parents and guardians may now proceed to the school to fetch their children.

Class moderators will facilitate the release of students through their respective classrooms.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to follow the instructions of the class moderators and school personnel to ensure a smooth and orderly release.

Internships serve as a vital bridge between academic preparation and professional excellence, offering students a valuable opportunity to apply their university-honed skills in real-world settings.

Strengthening this bridge, the 𝗔𝗱𝗭𝗨 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 (𝗦𝗠𝗔) officially sealed a strategic partnership with 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗲𝗱, a leading partner-led accounting firm specializing in tax, audit, and advisory services for middle-market companies, during a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing held on August 11, 2026, at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University campus.

Representing AdZU SMA at the ceremony were 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗮, 𝗖𝗣𝗔, 𝗠𝗕𝗔, Chairperson of the Accountancy Department, and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘇𝗮, 𝗖𝗣𝗔, SMA Faculty member. Scrubbed was represented by HR Senior Manager 𝗠𝘀. 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗟. 𝗟𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗽 and Chief of Staff 𝗠𝘀. 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗬𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻-𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘀.

The signing was witnessed by 𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝗹𝗽𝗵 𝗝𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗠. 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗮, 𝗖𝗣𝗔, Director of the Advancement Office, together with 𝗠𝘀. 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮, 𝗠𝗣𝗔 and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗼, 𝗟𝗣𝗧 from the ACE Office.

Through this collaboration, Ateneo de Zamboanga University and Scrubbed reaffirm their shared dedication to nurturing competent, principled professionals. By combining academic rigor with industry expertise, this partnership ensures that Atenean students remain well-equipped to navigate the global business landscape in the spirit of service and excellence.

As we conclude the AdZUAA Mid-Year General Assembly & Fellowship, we celebrate not only 70 years of alumni friendship and camaraderie, but also the enduring relationships, shared experiences, and common purpose that continue to bring Blue Eagles together.
