“A good teacher is like a candle—it consumes itself to light the way for others." - Mustafa Kemal Ataturk

Teachers are like North Stars. They guide the younger generation toward a bright future and drive away the darkness with the light of knowledge. Their patience and dedication deserve recognition. Teachers’ Day is the perfect time to celebrate this noble profession.

It's the time of year where we celebrate a special event for the unsung heroes of our society, our TEACHERS! This month acknowledges the preciousness of our teachers who made an incredible impact in our lives, fueling our curiosity, creativity, and passion for learning. From dawn till dusk, they tirelessly guide, inspire, and empower us to reach our full potential. They inspire us to dream big, to take risks, and to never give up on our goals. They guide us through life's ups and downs, offering a listening ear and a helping hand whenever we need it. They are the beacons of hope and light in our darkest moments, the confidants who help us navigate the complexities of growing up. But, do you know that for all their endeavors and toil, teachers barely get recognition? So, this is a special month because we are going to express our gratitude to our teachers for all their hard work. Thank you for playing a role in our development and making a difference in our lives, and thank you for turning us into the people we are today.

To the world, you may be just a teacher, but to your students, you are a hero. Happy Teachers Day to all the teachers!

St. Matthias' 1st Homeroom Parent-Teacher Meeting

On July 7th, 2024, Saint Joseph School Foundation's homeroom parent-teacher meeting in the room 303 of 12 - St. Matthias commenced at 8 am with a song prayer and the singing of the national anthem — Lupang Hinirang, followed by Zamboanga Hermosa. After that, our advisors, Ms. Jennifer Galvez and Ms. Michelle Leonardo, provided a warm welcome to the honorable parents of 12-HUMSS.

During the presentation, the academic year 2024-2025 calendar, which includes the Buwan ng Wika, Sci-Math month, Acquaintance Party, Christmas Party, Retreat, and voucher requirements, was discussed with the parents. They showed an understanding of what their children will be experiencing during the challenging academic year.

As the meeting for the homeroom parent-teacher association concluded, the parents and guardians voted for those they believed were suitable for the positions, with clapping and laughter as the atmosphere. In addition, a guardian raised concerns about student hardship and mental health, giving remarkable advice for the class to be open about the matter and for the parents to be aware. This prompted other parents to talk to the advisor to address their concerns and clarify things.

At the end, there was a sense of relief for the parents who was assured that their children are in good hands of St. Joseph School. There was also a renewed motivation as the academic year started with everyone ready to take on the challenges of the rocky road towards the final trip of high school life.

Thank you to our beloved parents and guardians!

NUTRITION MONTH ‘24 | SA PPAN: “Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat”

On the month of July, the Saint Joseph School Foundation Inc. has been integrating the importance of nutrition for a healthy environment for students, teachers, and staffs. The purpose of the event was to celebrate informed, healthier, well-balanced food choices, and eating habits for all. The eagerness of the students, especially from the HUMSS 11-12 can be seen throughout the event, from discussing the healthy food options, to preparing for the said booths, and jolly jingles, proving how healthy they could be if they yearn for it.

From the start, the HUMSS has made an exceptional and unforgettable entrance with their eye catching Mascot, Mr. Dinobowl that is made out of the concept of healthy eating. Showcasing their fun, creative, and friendly way of promoting healthy eating with a choice amidst the Parade. Of course, Mr. Dinobowl wouldn’t be everyone’s favorite without his little healthy eaters that gave an air of festivity and glee throughout the joyous day.

With the harmonious melodies of their jingle, “Gulay, you light up my world like nobody else~”. To their sedulous booth that was topped with extra gulay and love. The HUMSS got it all!! Just like how gulay lit up their world, the 11-12 HUMSS lit up the whole school with their health attack. The pouncing sure did work, K.O! That led to HUMSS attaining notable awards.

Congratulations, Humanista!! The prosperous nutrition month wouldn’t be as satisfying as it is without your desire, and will on embarking a new healthy diet. Gulay does not only make Mr. Dinobowl beautiful, but all of us as a whole. Onto our next gathering, little healthy eaters! Thank you and see you there.

Excellence is not a purchasable product; and to be obtained as a product—we are required to possess enthusiasm, perseverance, discipline and tough grind. And the entirety of these behavior are espied in the 11 and 12 HUMANISTAS. As the HUMANITAS are preparing for the events of nutrition month while in their vigorous personas.

The artificers of HUMSS in the poster, mascot, jingle, and food display competitions accoutred themselves with an imaginative brain, artistic and intricate hand, bubbly personalities, initiative, intelligence, and leadership
dexterity—for them to conquer another battle. And to arrive to a triumphant end.

Whatever the battle and whatever the odds are, the HUMANISTAS will defy it with a straight stature and positive demeanor. Indicating that it is JUST a battle.

BUENO ‘24 DAY 2 l “Blazing Dreams: Awakening the spirit of Resiliency and Solidarity towards Excellence"

July 5, 2024 was marked as the second day of BUENO 2024. The HUMANISTAS throats are dry and rasping; as it was deprived due to the extreme yelling and cheerful squealing of the HUMANISTAS. The HUMANISTAS physique are numb as intense activities prompted it. Exhaustion is the word that can least describe the aftermath of the Day 1 of BUENO 2024.

A taxing occurrence is powerless — as the indomitable spirit of the HUMANISTAS did not wavered, even though anxiety reigned due to the vagueness of a grasping success.

The Day 2 started with a conversation and deep fusing bond with God. Through God, an activity was made. An activity that helped the finite flesh to recollect — and thank those who are good to them. As the time progressed, engaging games and dance performances are tangibly flaunted to entertain the crowd. And the absolute entertainment was the mini play; as the play depicts the origin stories of the strand house and emblem.

The end of BUENO 2024 was nerve wrecking and work defining. As this is the day where our hard works will be defined. And the HUMANISTAS end the BUENO with flying colors roaming above their heads. As the Grade 11 and 12 HUMSS are the overall champion; as we bagged the: Best in Mini Play, 1st in Banner Making, 1st in Team Building, 2nd in Bench Yell, 3rd in float making, and 4th in caption making.

The Grade 11 and 12 HUMSS experienced countless emotions, obstacles, and setbacks. And yet, the HUMANISTAS did not yield. But rather, it capacitated the HUMANISTAS to ascend through their uncertainties and annihilate their unknowns. And as a consequence, the 11 and 12 HUMSS underwent and experienced metamorphosis.

BUENO ‘24 DAY 1 l “Blazing Dreams: Awakening the spirit of Resiliency and Solidarity towards Excellence"

“We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.” - Martin Luther King, Jr.

As we continue to move forward on our journey as Senior High School Students at St. Joseph School Foundation Inc. new daring and joyous student’s have come together to create precious bonds and memories this BUENO 2024. We, together with the G11 HUMSS - St. Jerome, have experienced hardships and struggles behind the scenes as we prepare to shine, and show the warmth of the HUMSS wrath. Along the path of doubtfulness and insecurities, we continued to move forward with cold feet, reaching out the dreams we wished to obtain.

Looking out for one another, encouragement seeping through each other’s mouth. We the Grade 11-12 HUMSS, stood beside on another with heads held high, prepared for anything that’ll push us back. With this, BUENO ‘24 Day 1 had officially begun.

With the Parade of Dreams - Float parade as the 1st activity. We proudly showed the outcome of our blood, sweat and tears with loud roars and cheers. As well as seeing the others strands hard works bought us bliss, and excitement. Still pumped up from the Parade of Dreams. The Banner Raising Competition soon came after and made our representative show their athletic abilities, that also led to an unexpected outcome.

Eventually, the most anticipated competition made its way through the crowd that shook our hearts and soul, like a lightning bolt striking upon us. Trembling with fear and tension, We, the G11-12 HUMSS lit up the whole gym with their warmth and powerful yell echoing throughout. Showing the Kingdoms what a beast we have become.

At the last competition of Day 1 BUENO — Team building, the grade 11 and 12 dragons united as one, conquering every obstacles with great minds and unwavering determination to reach the last station. With amazing teamwork and strength, we pierced through the hearts of the game. In every heavy gasp we continued to grasp the eagerness we felt. Behind tied feet and frustration, HUMSS dragged their feet with their vision set on their goals. Dripping in sweat, the bold representatives finally reached the final station with the last bit of their energy used to shout their enthusiastic yell.

Make way for Team Firebeast!! Congratulations, G11-12 for a successful DAY 1 of BUENO ‘24. St. Matthias would like to express our gratitude to everyone who showed unconditional effort and support to HUMSS on the 1st Day of BUENO ‘24 awakening event.
