These brilliant minds presented their work to the UZ Top Management, showcasing a solution that makes campus life easier for everyone. It’s not just a project, it’s a presentation of the creativity and technical skill developing here in our department.

𝗨𝗭 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘: Two (2) students from the Universidad de Zamboanga - School of Engineering, Information, and Communications Technology (UZ-SEICT) successfully presented their capstone project entitled UZ Directory: A Smart Interactive Kiosk for Seamless Campus Navigation at Universidad de Zamboanga on April 28, 2026, at the Graduate Studies Wing, Edificio Academico, UZ Main Campus, Tetuan, Zamboanga City.

Fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students, Ms. Aisha Lyn Alam and Mr. Sudaiz Alhad, presented their innovative project to the UZ Management Committee, represented by University President Mr. Abram Eustaquio and Director for Quality Assurance and Risk Management Ms. Jeriemay Polidario, together with SEICT Dean Dr. Mary Ann Beth Kong, UZ Centro Uno TBI Manager Engr. Jona Cristine Jalandoni, and the students’ adviser, Ms. Delia Ruxanna Ismael.

Originally developed for the University Communications Office (UCO), the capstone project seeks to install information kiosks called “UZ Directory,” an interactive map of the Main Campus with innovative functions that locate all department offices. It is specifically designed for individuals unfamiliar with the campus.
The capstone project received commendations from the panelists, who praised the students’ creativity and innovation.

UZ openly supports its students’ coursework by ensuring that their projects be applied in practical settings beyond the classroom.

𝐎𝐧 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 the 𝐔𝐙 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 was held at the 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚. This year’s competition, centered on the theme "𝐀𝐆𝐎𝐒 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍: 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐀𝐈) 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡, 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍," challenged our students to develop innovative solutions for a more sustainable future.

Participants were evaluated based on their ability to address complex problems, their unique value propositions, market opportunities, and the caliber of their presentation delivery.
