When responding to an emergency involving an unconscious individual, every single second counts. Knowing exactly what to do can make all the difference while waiting for medical professional help to arrive.
At Saint Joseph School Foundation, Inc., we believe that safety and awareness start with education. We've put together this quick, easy-to-remember guide on the ABCs of First Aid Response:
π΄ A β AIRWAY: Check if the airway is open and clear. An unconscious person's airway can easily be blocked. Ensuring it is clear allows vital air to reach the lungs.
π‘ B β BREATHING: Look, listen, and feel for normal breathing. If they aren't breathing or are only gasping, immediate action like CPR may be required to supply oxygen to the brain.
π’ C β CIRCULATION: Check for signs of life (movement, coughing, or a pulse if trained). Circulation delivers oxygen-rich blood throughout the body. If there are no signs, begin CPR and call for emergency medical assistance immediately.
Take a moment to review the guide in the poster below, share it with your loved ones, and let's keep our community safe, informed, and prepared! π

At Saint Joseph School Foundation, Inc., we believe that safety and preparedness go hand in hand. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a vital, lifesaving skill that can make a critical difference during sudden emergenciesβwherever you are.
Did you know that when a person's heart stops beating, permanent brain damage can begin within just 4 to 6 minutes? Immediate CPR helps keep oxygen circulating and maintains blood flow until professional medical help arrives.
Why should everyone learn CPR?
π It Saves Lives: Immediate action significantly increases a person's chance of survival.
π§ Prevents Brain Damage: Keeps vital organs oxygenated when every second counts.
π‘ Useful Anywhere: Cardiac arrest can happen anytimeβat home, in school, at work, or in public places.
πͺ Empowers You: It gives you the confidence to act quickly and effectively in a life-threatening situation.
Emergencies don't wait, and you never know when someone nearby might need your help. Let's build a safer, more prepared community together! π€β¨

Attention, Josephians!
In light of the recent earthquake and the continuous aftershocks felt within our school premises, the Saint Joseph School Foundation, Inc. prioritizes everyoneβs safety above all else.
Key Safety Protocols to Remember:
π 1. Stay Alert: Listen closely to school alarms and announcements from teacher leaders.
π’ 2. Be Aware of Aftershocks: Earthquakes often bring smaller shakes afterward. Stay away from damaged structures.
π§ββοΈ 3. Drop, Cover, and Hold On: If you feel the ground shake, immediately drop to your knees, cover your head under a sturdy desk, and hold on tight. Keep doing this during aftershocks!
πͺ 4. Evacuate Safely: Once the shaking stops, follow your teacherβs instructions and evacuate to designated open areas in a calm, orderly line. Do not panic or run.
β οΈ 5. Avoid Hazards: Stay clear of falling debris, shattered glass, power lines, and cracked walls.
π’ Reporting & Instructions: If you notice any structural damage around the campus or if someone requires medical assistance, please report it to the School Administration immediately. Always follow all official instructions from school marshals.
Letβs keep each other safe, remain calm, and look out for one another. π
