๐Ÿ“ Strengthening Research Collaboration Through Mobility and Knowledge Exchange

10 June 2026 | The Department of Science and Technology IX through the Zamboanga Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development Consortium (ZIEERDeC) warmly welcomed delegates from the Southern Tagalog Islands Research and Development Consortium (STIRDC) for the Intra-Consortium Mobility Program held in Zamboanga City.

The activity formally commenced with a welcome message from Ms. Rosemarie S. Salazar, Regional Director of DOST IX and Advisory Committee Chair of ZIEERDeC, followed by a message from Dr. Marvin A. Maulion, Consortium Director of ZIEERDeC, and a pre-recorded video message from Dr. Marjorie A. Espaรฑaola, Consortium Director of STIRDC. In their messages, they underscored the importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and institutional partnerships in advancing research, development, and innovation initiatives across regions.

The program served as a platform for sharing best practices, discussing capability-building initiatives, and strengthening institutional support mechanisms in research and development. Participants also engaged in discussions on research proposal development and submission processes to DOST-PCIEERD, followed by an open forum on insights and good practices in consortium management.

As part of the mobility program, delegates visited the research and innovation facilities of Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) and Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU). These visits provided an opportunity to showcase the region's R&D capabilities, foster institutional linkages, and encourage future collaborative initiatives among consortium members.

This activity reflects the shared commitment of ZIEERDeC and STIRDC to strengthening the country's research and innovation ecosystem through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the continuous pursuit of excellence in research and development.
