Prayer in the Midst of the Emergency

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

1. Settle in the Present Moment
Take a deep breath and let go of the physical tension you are holding. Acknowledge that the worst of the chaos has passed, and we are safe together in this space right now.

2. Look Back with Gratitude
Think about the details of what just happened. What went well? Who stepped up to help? Express silent gratitude for the safety we found and the teamwork that got us through.

3. Notice Your Feelings
Pay attention to what you are feeling right now without judging yourself.

* Where did you feel a sense of strength or unexpected calm?
* Where did you feel intense fear, helplessness, or anger?
Acknowledge these feelings and hand them over to God to carry for you.

4. Find the Core Lesson
Reflect honestly on how things went. What did this situation teach us about our strengths? What did it show us about how we can better support each other next time?

5. Look Forward with Hope
As we return to our normal routine, what do you need most right now? Ask for the rest, healing, or peace of mind required to move forward from this event.

Closing Prayer:
Lord, we place ourselves in Your presence during this stressful moment. We ask for the grace to act against our panic, fear, and feeling overwhelmed. Quiet our racing minds and anchor our hearts in Your peace.
We beg for the grace of clear judgment under pressure. Give us:
* Clear minds to see the situation exactly as it is without panic.
* Wisdom to make swift, safe, and loving decisions.
* Steady hands and calm voices to do what needs to be done.

We commit this situation, and everyone affected by it, entirely into Your hands.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. ✝️

Lord Jesus,
You are the Master of the wind and the waves. When the storm raged around Your disciples, You spoke the words, 'Peace, be still,' and the sea became perfectly calm.

​I ask for that same power and peace to cover me right now. Command the storms around me to cease, and quiet the anxiety within my heart. I place my trust entirely in You, knowing that no storm is too fierce for Your command.

St. IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA, PRAY FOR US!

Feast of Saints Peter and Paul - also known as Pope's Day!

They are honored together on the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul (June 29) because they are considered the foundational pillars of the early Christian Church. Though very different in background and personality, they shared a common mission in Rome and were united in martyrdom.

Come! Join us in our Mass at the SHS Chapel at 12 noon.

Prayer after an Earthquake

Lord Jesus, The earth beneath my feet just shook, and with it, my sense of safety and control. In the suddenness of that moment, I was reminded of how fragile things are. Right now, my body feels the aftershocks of adrenaline, and my mind is filled with what-ifs. ​Saint Ignatius taught us to find You in all things—even in the unsettling, chaotic moments of life. So I bring my shaken heart to You. You are my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. When the physical ground is unsteady, be the solid ground upon which I stand. ​I pray for my neighbors, my community, and all who felt this tremor. Wrap Your protective arms around those who are afraid, comfort those who are overwhelmed, and grant wisdom to emergency workers or anyone checking on loved ones. Amen
