San Roque National High School proudly held its Extemporaneous Speaking Competition as part of the 2024 National Reading Month Celebration. 📚✨ With eloquence and confidence, our young speakers showcased their ability to think critically and speak passionately on the spot. 🏅 Let’s continue to nurture a love for reading, learning, and expressing ideas that inspire change! 💬👏

𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪: 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰

📌 𝗩𝗟𝗢𝗚 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗦

1. Each curriculum shall have to choose at most three (3) participants for the contest.
2. All submitted work must be original work and between 5-7 minutes in length, including credits.
3. The participants can use Tagalog or English as their medium of speaking. Speaking in Chavacano or other vernaculars is not allowed.
4. Each entry must focus on the Reading Camp Activity highlights. The vlog entry should highlight the love for reading and learning as this month’s advocacy.
5. The vlogs should be in landscape orientation and in the highest quality possible. Either 1080p (1920 x 1080) or 720p (1280 x 720).
6. The content’s language must be appropriate for an audience of all ages. Entries containing foul and offensive language will be immediately disqualified.
7. When using images, sounds, or music in the entry, references of information and other related sources used in the video must be cited, crediting the original owner.
8. All entries must begin with a 5-second full-screen title page that follows the format: SURNAME_GRADE LEVEL_VIDEO TITLE.
9. Entries must be submitted to the assigned facilitator via Bluetooth or Gmail.
10. Winning entries shall be uploaded in the Readers’ Realm Fb Page.

𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴:

Relevance to the Theme – 50%
Originality and Creativity – 30%
Technical Quality – 20%
Total – 100%

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: This contest is an opportunity for students to express how learning, especially reading, plays a role in shaping their daily lives. It challenges participants to creatively showcase their personal routines, focusing on the value of education and the passion for learning that drives them forward.

📌 𝗠𝗢𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗠𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗦

• Each curriculum area must choose three (3) participants for the contest.

• All entries must be taken by the participant using a mobile device, such as smartphones or tablets.
• Entries should be in full color; correction or editing of the photos is allowed.
• Entries must be submitted in landscape orientation.
• Participants are encouraged to use the best settings on their mobile devices to capture high-quality photos.
• Photos must be taken between November 15-20, 2024.
• Entries should not contain watermarks or any identifying marks.
• Photos must respect the rights of others, including copyrights and privacy.
• Photos must not have been submitted to or won any previous photography contests.
• Entries must be submitted to the assigned facilitator via Bluetooth or Gmail.
• File names of photos should follow this format: SURNAME_GRADE LEVEL_PHOTO TITLE.
• The awarding of winners will be held on December 4, 2024.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲: "𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀"
This theme focuses on capturing the essence of moments at San Roque National High School, specifically during learning or reading activities. The term "Boomarked" plays on the idea of "bookmarking" memorable moments that occur during the educational journey. Whether it's a student engrossed in a book, engaged in a class discussion, or participating in any other learning activity, your photo should represent those special, fleeting moments that define the academic life at San Roque National High School.

𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴:

𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 (𝟰𝟬%)
The photo should clearly reflect the theme "Boomarked Moments," capturing meaningful learning or reading activities that represent a student's journey through education at San Roque National High School.

𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝟯𝟬%)
The photo should stand out through creative composition, unique perspectives, and originality in capturing the theme. Judges will look for fresh, imaginative interpretations of the theme.

𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝟮𝟬%)
Photos should demonstrate proper technical ex*****on, including appropriate lighting, focus, and clarity. The use of the mobile device’s settings and features to enhance the photo’s quality will be considered.

𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 (𝟭𝟬%)
The photo should evoke emotions or resonate with the viewer, making them feel connected to the moment being captured. It should be able to tell a story or convey the essence of the student’s experience.

𝗧𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹: 𝟭𝟬𝟬%
The combination of these factors will determine the winners of the contest, with a focus on how effectively the participant uses photography to capture the true spirit of education and learning at San Roque National High School.

𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪? 🤔

The words 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆'𝗿𝗲, and 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 are 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀, meaning they sound the same but have different meanings and spellings! Their is a possessive pronoun used to show ownership, as in "Their project was impressive." They’re is a contraction for they are, such as in "They’re going to present next." There points to a place or position, like "Let’s sit over there." Knowing these distinctions helps make your writing clearer and more precise!
