Industry workers are currently undertaking the Scaffolding Works NC II Competency Assessment at the Amara International Institute of Technology Lab in Talabaan, Zamboanga City. The assessment evaluates their knowledge, skills, and competencies in scaffolding operations as part of the certification process for the Scaffolding Works NC II qualification.

This initiative marks an important milestone in strengthening the recognition and certification of skilled workers in the scaffolding industry while promoting competence, safety, and professional standards in the workplace.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Metro Stonerich Corporation Official for their invaluable support and partnership with our institution. We deeply appreciate their trust in Amara and their commitment to having their scaffolding workforce undergo the assessment toward acquiring their TESDA National Certification. This collaboration is a meaningful step in recognizing and strengthening the skills and competencies of our industry workers.

What does a scaffolder do?

✅ Assembles scaffolding – puts together metal pipes, frames, platforms, and clamps.
✅ Installs platforms – creates safe working areas for workers at different heights.
✅Secures the scaffolding – makes sure it is properly connected and stable.
✅ Inspects scaffolding – checks for loose connections, damaged parts, or other safety problems.
✅ Dismantles scaffolding – carefully takes it apart when construction work is finished.
✅ Follows safety procedures – uses PPE such as a hard hat, gloves, safety harness, and safety shoes.
✅ Assists other construction workers – provides safe access for painters, electricians, masons, and other workers working at elevated areas.

Please be advised that smoke and haze from wildfires in Indonesia may affect some parts of the Philippines, particularly areas in the southern region, including Zamboanga City.

As a precautionary measure, all students are strongly advised to wear facemasks, especially when outdoors or while traveling to and from the campus. This will help minimize exposure to smoke, haze, dust, and other airborne particles that may affect respiratory health.

We also encourage everyone to:
• Wear a facemask when outside or in areas affected by haze.
• Limit prolonged outdoor activities when the air quality is poor.
• Stay hydrated and take necessary precautions for your health.
• Students who experience difficulty breathing, persistent coughing, dizziness, or other unusual symptoms should seek medical attention and inform their instructor or the school administration.

Amara International Institute Participates in TESDA’s 32nd Founding Anniversary Celebration.

The institution proudly participated in the activities organized in connection with the 32nd Founding Anniversary of TESDA, held at KCC Mall de Zamboanga, together with various TESDA partner TVET schools and institutions.

The celebration brought together different TESDA partners who shared their congratulations and messages of support for TESDA’s continued commitment to technical vocational education and training. During the event TESDA Zamboanga City-Isabela City Provincial Director Omar Dalagan delivered his message and expressed his appreciation and special thanks to all partner schools for their cooperation, participation, and support in making the celebration successful.

Adding pride to the celebration, the Diploma in Hospitality Management and Technology (DHMT) students of Amara International Institute of Technology showcased their knowledge, creativity, and expertise through their Bread and Pastry setup. The students demonstrated their skills and passion in the field of baking and pastry production, representing the quality of training and hands on learning provided by the institution.

The participation of Amara International Institute highlights its strong partnership with TESDA and its commitment to developing skilled, competent, and industry ready students through quality technical-vocational education. The celebration was not only a recognition of TESDA’s 32 years of service but also an opportunity to showcase the talents and skills of future hospitality professionals.

The Training Induction Program was successfully conducted on August 15, 2026, highlighting the scholarship opportunities provided by TESDA through the efforts of Assistant Majority Floor Leader and Zamboanga District 1 Congresswoman Katrina “Kat” Reiko Chua-Tai Kat Chua, in partnership with AMARA International Institute of Technology, Inc.

This initiative provides aspiring scholars with access to Technical-Vocational Skills Education, equipping them with practical knowledge, industry-relevant skills, and opportunities that can help build a more sustainable and brighter future.

Through the collaboration of TESDA, Cong. Kat Chua, and AMARA International Institute of Technology, Inc., more individuals are given the opportunity to learn, develop their skills, and prepare for meaningful employment and livelihood opportunities.

Day 3 of the AIIT Palaro 2026 brought the excitement to an all-time high as our DHMT students battled for the championship titles in Basketball and Badminton.

The final matches showcased remarkable determination, teamwork, and resilience as every team and athlete gave their best until the final whistle. The energy, passion, and sportsmanship displayed throughout the day truly embodied the spirit of the Amara Palaro.

As we conclude this unforgettable celebration of sports and camaraderie, we look forward to tomorrow’s Awarding Ceremony, where we will recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our champions and participants.

One of the major highlights of Day 1 of the AIIT Palaro 2026 was the Folk Dance Competition, where the DHMT students proudly showcased their talent, teamwork, and appreciation of Filipino culture through captivating performances of different traditional folk dances.
