“Whoever does good, it is for their own benefit.”
This is a powerful concept found in many teachings, especially in Islam. For example, in the Qur’an:
“Whoever does righteousness, it is for his own soul…” — (Surah Al-Jathiyah 45:15)
The meaning is simple but deep:
When you do something good—help someone, speak kindly, act honestly—you’re not just benefiting others. You’re actually benefiting yourself, in this life and the next.
Good deeds:
• build your character
• bring inner peace
• earn reward from Allah
• often come back to you in unexpected ways
So even if people don’t appreciate your goodness, it’s never wasted.
