Yesterday at exactly 3:30 PM, the entire school community of Lamisahan National High School actively participated in the 1st Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED). The activity aimed to prepare students, teachers, and staff for possible earthquake situations and to practice proper safety procedures during emergencies.

As the drill began, the sound of the alarm signaled the start of the exercise. Immediately, students inside their classrooms performed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” technique under their desks, protecting their heads and staying calm while waiting for further instructions. Teachers guided their classes to ensure that everyone followed the proper safety procedures.

After the simulated shaking stopped, students formed orderly lines and calmly proceeded to their designated evacuation areas. Led by their teachers, they exited the classrooms carefully and avoided running or pushing to ensure everyone’s safety. Within minutes, all classes successfully gathered at the designated assembly area of the school.

The successful conduct of the 1st Quarter NSED reminded everyone of the importance of preparedness. Through regular drills like this, students and staff become more aware of the proper actions to take during earthquakes, helping ensure safety and reduce panic in real emergency situations. The activity strengthened the school’s commitment to building a safe and disaster-ready learning environment for everyone.

The Journey of Leadership: The Recently Concluded SSLG Election in Lamisahan NHS.

The school year became even more vibrant as the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Election officially commenced. What started as simple conversations among aspiring student leaders soon evolved into organized parties driven by platforms, principles, and passion for service.

The excitement began with the formation of political parties. Student leaders gathered like-minded peers who shared common goals for the school community. Each party carefully selected their candidates—from President down to Grade Level Representatives—ensuring that every nominee embodied competence, integrity, and dedication. Platforms were crafted, focusing on student welfare, academic support, mental health awareness, campus improvement, and inclusive activities.

The halls buzzed with energy as parties finalized their names, slogans, and advocacy plans, setting the tone for a healthy and competitive election season.

As the campaign period opened, the school was filled with enthusiasm. Candidates introduced themselves in classrooms, confidently presenting their visions and programs of governance. Posters were displayed strategically, and campaign materials reflected creativity and unity.

Furthermore, the much-awaited Meeting de Avance became the highlight of the campaign season. Held before an energetic audience of students and teachers, candidates took the stage to formally present their platforms.

With raised hands and strong voices, they pledged their commitment to serve with transparency and accountability. The event showcased confidence, leadership, and readiness. Supporters cheered and applause filled the venue as each candidate delivered their final message to the student body. It was a powerful display of democracy in action within the school community.

Finally, Election Day arrived. The atmosphere was both serious and hopeful. Students lined up responsibly, ready to cast their votes. Volunteers and teachers ensured that the voting process was orderly, fair, and transparent.

Inside the voting area, ballots were carefully reviewed before being submitted. After voting concluded, the tallying of votes began. With keen eyes observing and hearts anticipating, results were carefully recorded and announced.

When the winners were proclaimed, cheers erupted—but beyond the celebration, there was a shared understanding: the true victory belonged to the entire student body. Democracy had been exercised respectfully and successfully.
