Pilar College of Zamboanga City, Inc., would like to inform the public that earlier today the school received information regarding a possible security threat involving the school premises.

Upon receiving the report, the school administration immediately activated its established safety and emergency protocols. All students, faculty, and staff were promptly and safely evacuated to the designated evacuation area while the appropriate authorities were notified.

Responding personnel conducted a thorough inspection of the school premises, including the deployment of the Bomb Squad Team and K9 Unit. Following the assessment, authorities confirmed that no explosive device or related threat was found, and the campus was subsequently declared safe and cleared.

As a precautionary measure and in consideration of the well-being of our students, the school administration decided to allow students to return home after the evacuation.

The school administration extends its sincere gratitude to PS 11 Chief Officer-in-Charge PCPT Ariel Cabanlong, the Zamboanga Bomb Squad Team, the K9 Unit, and all other responding agencies for their swift response, professionalism, and commitment to ensuring the safety of our school community.

We also thank our faculty, staff, students, and parents for their cooperation, calmness, and understanding during the situation.

Pilar College remains committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment. The safety of our students and personnel will always remain our highest priority.

Regular classes will resume tomorrow, March 17, 2026 as scheduled.

Day 3 ||| February 13, 2026

Event successful, terminating session...! The morning of Day 3 started with a 5v5 Mobile Legends tournament that brought out teamwork and friendly rivalry. After a high-stakes tournament, a bring-and-share happened where everyone got closer through eating together. In the afternoon was an Open House event, welcoming Grade 12 Pilarists, where we showcased and inspired them on what being a panther is all about. 🧡🖥️

From seminars and games to inspiring future IT students, these past three days have been fun! 🧡🐾

We're not yet done! For Day 2, our IT 3rd and 4th years immersed themselves in a whole-day seminar on "React JS: Laravel Basics" by Mr. Eduard Roland P. Donor, learning the basics of modern and industry-standard web development. Meanwhile, the 1st and 2nd years stepped back from coding to play games, from a campus-wide scavenger hunt to 3v3 Mobile Legends, showing that we're not all about sitting down. 🧡🐾🖥️

From February 11 to 13, the BSIT program conducted its IT Days with the theme of "Emerging Technologies: Discover, Learn, and Adopt in Today's IT Industry!"

Day 1 started off with seminars, from learning the essentials of "Computer Management and Maintenance" with Mr. Michael Vincent Diaz, strengthening the IT students' technical foundations, to Mr. Abdul Rahman Antao's "From Student to Freelancer: Earning Online with Simple Tools," allowing students to discover freelancing opportunities. 🖥️🌎

We don't just code but also DISCOVER and LEARN! 🧡🐾

February 14 isn't just about romance; it's about service and love. Cherishing the connections and experiences we've made over the years and more to come. We celebrated this year's Valentines with the Ledesma family, our adopted beneficiaries from Sinunuc. Together, we joined hands in sharing our life experiences, laughter, and inspirations, reminding us that Valentines is about giving and connecting with everyone!
