The College of Business Management successfully concluded the "Filipino Brand of Service Excellence" Seminar for our 1st Year BS Tourism Management students from Sections A-D, held this May 07, 2026 at the ZSCMST Octagon.

This seminar was conducted by the Department of Tourism Region IX, honored by the presence of our Guest of Honor, Regional Director Dara May Cataluña, DOT Region IX, with Mr. Earl Bumotad as our Resource Speaker.

To our 1st Year BS Tourism students from Sections A-D — thank you for your active participation and eagerness to embody the heart of Filipino hospitality. You are the future of Philippine tourism!

In support of promoting health awareness and responsible practices, an HIV Awareness: Knowledge of Protection activity was successfully conducted, bringing together students to strengthen understanding on HIV prevention and protection within the school community.

The HIV Awareness: Knowledge of Protection was successfully conducted by BSHM 3B, spearheaded by Event Manager Christoper A. Ibrahim together with Instructor Ms. Regine Claire R. Arisgado.

The activity was graced by Dr. Rocelyn R. Alabata, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, who highlighted in her welcome remarks the vital role of awareness and education on HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases, especially within the school community.

Serving as resource speakers were Ms. Rhoy Diaz and Mr. John John Ian Dansin, focal persons from the City Health Office – Reproductive Health and Wellness Center, as well as Mr. Wilfredo Aporongao and Ms. Archer Pablo from the Gender and Development Office of the City Mayor’s Office, who shared their expertise and insights on prevention, protection, and responsible health practices.

The event stands as a meaningful initiative in promoting awareness, education, and proactive efforts toward a healthier and more informed community.

Through this event, participants will learn the facts about HIV, understand how it spreads—and how it does not—and discover ways to protect themselves and others. We believe that education is the key to prevention, and by empowering individuals with knowledge, we can help reduce fear, discrimination, and misinformation.

The BSHM 3-G successfully conducted a seminar entitled 'Understanding Guests: The Basics of Customer Behavior in Hospitality' under the advisory of Mr. Musfer Asjudi, HPC6 – Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions instructor. The seminar was held on April 28, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the Octagon Hall, with BSHM 1C students as participants.

This engaging and insightful activity allowed students to explore the true essence of hospitality—understanding not just service, but the heart behind every guest experience. As future hospitality professionals, we are inspired to serve not just with skills, but with passion, empathy, and excellence.

Custodio, they brilliantly showcased their culinary talents, highlighting the rich and vibrant flavors of Zamboanga.

The event provided a meaningful platform for our students to learn, grow, and excel in the culinary field. It was truly an unforgettable and inspiring experience for everyone involved.
