๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ || In line with the celebration of Earth Day 2026 with the theme โOur Power, Our Planet,โ the College of Fisheries and Allied Sciences, through the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (BSES) Program and the Green and Blue Environmental Science Society (GABLES), successfully conducted a Clean-Up Drive at the Mangrove Area of the campus as part of the kick-off celebration for Earth Day 2026.
This meaningful activity was actively participated by the students and faculty members of the Environmental Science Program, showing their unity, cooperation, and shared commitment in caring for the environment.
Although Earth Day is officially celebrated every April 22, the program and society decided to hold the celebration today April 29, 2026 to ensure a more meaningful, organized, and participative observance exclusively for the students and faculty of Environmental Science.
This whole-day celebration aims to promote environmental awareness, strengthen camaraderie within the Environmental Science family, encourage volunteerism, and inspire both students and faculty to take active responsibility in protecting and conserving natural resources.
The activities prepared for the students and faculty of the Environmental Science Program include various literary and academic competitions such as Poster Making Contest, Slogan Contest, Essay Writing, Creative Writing, and Quiz Bee. At lunchtime, participants will also gather for a fellowship through a boodle fight salo-salo, followed by exciting Palarong Pinoy activities in the afternoon. The much-awaited highlight of the celebration will be the DanSing Competition, where students will showcase their talents, creativity, and teamwork.
The BSES Program and GABLES Society would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the administration of Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology headed by Roy Lim Valesco for the approval, trust, and unwavering support extended in making this Earth Day celebration possible.
