Project ACUITY, equipping our community with the knowledge and skills to combat cyber threats effectively.
May 7, 2024 - The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in collaboration with Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) partnered with the President Ramon Magsaysay State University (PRMSU) Iba, Zambales to carry out Project ACUITY (Anti-Cybercrime Upskilling Initiative for Community) through the forward-looking leadership of PRMSU President, Dr. Roy N. Villalobos and coordination of Project ACUITY Focal Person/Coordinator, Dr. John Lenon E. Agatep, PRMSU ICT Head.
The Project’s objectives are to raise cybersecurity awareness and teach necessary skills to counteract the growing threat of cybercrime. The Cybercrime Prevention Act (RA 10175), the Data Privacy Act (RA 10173), the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313), the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children Act, and the Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act (RA 11930), The Sim Registration Act (RA 11934) and the Internet Transactions Act (RA 11967) were discussed in the activity. The insightful discussions, engaging presentations, and interactive workshops truly empowered everyone to become more vigilant and proactive in safeguarding themselves and others against cybercrime.
