August 14, 2026, Lumaba Integrated School in Ap-Apaya, Villaviciosa, Abra, conducted a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Lecture and Demonstration as part of the observance of National CPR Day and National Resilience Month.
The activity was organized by SDO Abra Personnel on Health Section to help 149 learners and 17 school personnel become more prepared and confident in responding to emergencies. More than simply learning the steps of CPR, the activity reminded everyone that knowing what to do during a critical situation can make a real difference in saving a person's life.
During the lecture, the participants were introduced to the basic principles of CPR, the importance of responding immediately during an emergency, and the proper steps to take when someone becomes unresponsive. The discussion was made more meaningful through an actual demonstration, where the proper techniques were shown clearly. Participants were given the opportunity to observe and better understand how CPR should be performed safely and correctly.
The activity also emphasized that emergencies can happen anytime and anywhere. Because of this, being prepared is not only the responsibility of health professionals or emergency responders. Teachers, school personnel, and even learners can play an important role when they know how to respond appropriately and remain calm during an emergency.
One of the highlights of the activity was the sharing of practical knowledge and lifesaving techniques by the Lecturer/Facilitator. The participants appreciated the opportunity to learn skills that they could potentially use not only in school but also at home and in the community. In recognition of this valuable contribution, a Certificate of Recognition was presented to the Lecturer/Facilitator.
The activity was made successful through the cooperation and active participation of the learners and personnel showed interest throughout the discussion and demonstration, recognizing that CPR is a practical life skill that can give someone a second chance while waiting for professional medical help. The CPR Lecture and Demonstration was a meaningful and worthwhile learning experience for Lumaba Integrated School.
The activity strengthened the school's commitment to building a safe, prepared, and resilient school community where everyone is encouraged to care, respond, and help when it matters most.

LIS Tree Planting 2026 🌳

Today, learners of Lumaba Integrated School planted seedlings around our school premises.

This activity aims to teach our students the value of trees in protecting our environment, preventing floods, cleaning the air, and building a sustainable future. More than just planting, we want them to understand that every small action counts.

With shovels in hand and hope in their hearts, our learners worked together to make our campus greener. Each seedling planted is a symbol of our commitment to a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment.

Small actions today, big impact tomorrow. We plant hope, we grow responsibility, and we nurture love for Mother Earth. 🌱

Let us continue to take care of these plants, just as we take care of our future.
