As Typhoon Uwan continues to move closer to Northern Luzon, VILLASIS and nearby towns are expected to experience strong winds and heavy rains this weekend. Letโs all stay alert, informed, and ready.
๐ข POSSIBLE IMPACTS:
โข Very heavy rain โ may cause floods and landslides
โข Strong winds โ may damage power lines and light buildings
โข Power outages and possible damage to roads or houses
๐ข WHAT TO EXPECT:
โข Strong winds may start on Saturday night or early Sunday morning
โข Heavy rain and winds are expected from Sunday evening until Tuesday
โ ๏ธ BEFORE THE STORM:
1. Charge phones, flashlights, and power banks
2. Prepare an emergency go-bag (food, water, flashlight, batteries, medicines, first aid kit, important documents, extra clothes)
3. Store enough drinking water and ready-to-eat food for 2โ3 days
4. Secure your home โ tie down or bring inside loose items
5. Know the nearest evacuation centers and routes
๐ง DURING THE STORM:
1. Stay indoors and away from windows
2. Avoid going outside or crossing flooded areas
3. Unplug electrical appliances if flooding starts
4. Listen to official advisories on radio, TV, or online
5. Keep communication lines open for emergencies
โ๏ธ AFTER THE STORM:
1. Check surroundings for fallen wires or damaged structures
2. Avoid wading in floodwaters
3. Help clean up surroundings safely
4. Stay tuned for further weather updates
5. Offer help to neighbors and report emergencies to authorities
