SECOND QUARTER CONVERGENCE OF PRIVATE SCHOOLS | CALENDAR YEAR 2026
May 21, 2026, we successfully concluded the Second Quarter Convergence of Private Schools for Calendar Year 2026, hosted by Villareal 1 District and co-hosted by Divine Mercy Integrated Academy of Villareal Foundation Inc., held right at the academy’s campus.
This meaningful gathering brought together all school heads from Villareal 1 District, representatives from private schools across the Division of Samar, and four dedicated DepEd Division personnel, led by Chief Education Supervisor for School Governance and Operations, Ma’am Francia A. Tan. In her messages throughout the activity, she strongly emphasized that private schools are valuable education partners of DepEd — never competitors — highlighting that both sectors share one and the same mission: to deliver accessible, relevant, and quality education for all learners.
The session was packed with essential updates and productive exchanges. Private schools proudly presented their key accomplishments from School Year 2025-2026, as well as their carefully laid out plans, programs, and targets for the upcoming School Year 2026-2027. Participants also went through vital orientations and discussions covering among others: DepEd’s new Three-Term School Calendar for SY 2026-2027, the features of the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum, lesson planning and other curriculum-related matters, plus a thorough walkthrough of all documentary requirements needed for the approval of tuition, miscellaneous, and other school fees collected by private schools.
Leading these informative and enriching sessions were our capable division personnel: Mr. Nazareno Ortillo, Division Private School Coordinator; Dr. Josefina Dacallos, EPS - LR/Private School; and Mr. Gerry Ocenar, SEPS - SMM&E.
Truly, this convergence was more than just a gathering — it was a strong affirmation of collaboration, alignment, and shared purpose. Working hand in hand as partners, we move forward together toward better education for every learner in our division.
