A literacy mapping activity was conducted in various communities to identify potential ALS learners and assess their educational needs. Through house-to-house visits and coordination with community leaders, out-of-school youth and adults were encouraged to enroll in the Alternative Learning System (ALS).
Following the literacy mapping, classes were conducted in every Community Learning Center (CLC). Learning sessions focused on literacy, numeracy, and life skills development. Learners actively participated in the activities and showed enthusiasm in learning.
The activity was successfully carried out and contributed to expanding educational opportunities and promoting lifelong learning within the community.

The Department of Education (DepEd) has announced that 124,014 examinees successfully passed the 2025 Alternative Learning System (ALS) Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test, which was administered on March 29, 2026.

Of the total passers, 17,466 qualified at the Elementary Level, while 106,548 passed at the Secondary Level.

As part of the preparation for the upcoming learning sessions, the Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers and learners actively participated in the conduct of Brigada Eskwela in various Community Learning Centers (CLCs). The activity aimed to ensure that the learning environment is clean, safe, organized, and conducive to learning.
Teachers, together with ALS learners, rendered voluntary services in cleaning and improving the different CLCs. Activities included sweeping and cleaning classrooms, removing weeds and debris around the learning centers, arranging learning materials, and conducting minor repairs when necessary. The participants demonstrated teamwork, cooperation, and a strong sense of responsibility throughout the activity.
The Brigada Eskwela also served as an opportunity to strengthen the partnership between teachers and learners while promoting the value of volunteerism and community involvement. Through their collective efforts, the Community Learning Centers were successfully prepared for the opening of classes and other ALS learning activities.
Overall, the conduct of Brigada Eskwela was a success. It reflected the commitment of ALS teachers and learners to maintaining a welcoming and learner-friendly environment that supports quality education and lifelong learning.

As part of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) program's commitment to reaching out-of-school youth and adults, a literacy mapping activity was conducted on June 5, 2026, at Purok 6, Barangay 9, Daan Banwa.
The activity aimed to identify potential ALS learners and gather relevant information regarding their educational status and literacy needs. Through house-to-house visits and interviews with residents, data were collected to determine individuals who may benefit from ALS programs and services.
The literacy mapping was carried out successfully with the cooperation and support of community members. Residents were informed about the opportunities offered by ALS, including basic literacy, elementary and secondary accreditation, and skills development programs. The activity also served as an avenue to encourage prospective learners to continue their education through ALS.
The information gathered during the mapping will be used to strengthen learner recruitment efforts and develop appropriate interventions that address the educational needs of the community. The activity reflects ALS's dedication to providing accessible and inclusive education for all.

On May 28, 2026, our ALS team conducted a literacy mapping activity in Pusod Gamay, Brgy. 19-A, and in Hda. Pusod Daku, Hda. Pusod Victan, and Hda. Soledad in Brgy. 20. The activity aimed to identify potential learners, out-of-school youth, and adults who are interested in enrolling in the Alternative Learning System (ALS) program.
During the visit, we engaged with residents through house-to-house profiling and short interviews to assess their educational background, current needs, and interest in literacy and continuing education. Most of the communities expressed positive responses, especially parents who wished to return to learning to improve their livelihood opportunities. Several out-of-school youth also showed willingness to enroll in ALS to pursue their education despite work responsibilities.
We also took the opportunity to explain the goals of ALS, the learning delivery modalities, and the benefits of completing either the Basic Literacy Program or the Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) program. The community leaders in both barangays welcomed the initiative and assured their support in informing other residents.
Overall, the literacy mapping was successful and productive. The data gathered will guide the planning of future learning sessions and help ensure that educational interventions are accessible to all identified learners. Through this activity, we continue to strengthen our commitment to bringing education closer to the community and providing opportunities for those who wish to continue their learning journey.
