Fr. Rhine Bollozos shared an eye-opening view. He reminded students to study hard, to become a leading example to their classmates and fellow Bosconians, and to study hard for our parents who are proud of us every step of the way. To strive and to stand by our motto, โ€œSeek for higher things.โ€ To set standards for ourselves, for the betterment of our growth. With that, he also acknowledges how we can use our capabilities to seek for higher outcomes. This reminds us that we are capable of achieving anything, recalling how there is no end to our potential.

Then, Fr. Bollozos shared a story of a boy in the 8th grade named James. This young boy reflected on how dependent young generations are on technology. When technology was rid from him, for the first time, he felt peace and silence. Fr. Bollozos then explained how innovation is progressing, and life gets louder, more complex, and cluttered. But small, short moments of silence bring clarity to our minds. It shows us how much silence is needed in such a loud world, and how it refreshes our minds into a clean state, so we can continue to think, focus, and strive every day.

This morning talk was an important refresher for everyone. It makes us feel inspired, motivated, and awakened. This morning, we were given a reason to strive, to set a standard for ourselves, to value each moment of silence, and to courageously persevere.

Isinagawa nitong Agosto 14, 2026 ang pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika sa pamamagitan ng Larong Pinoy at Pagkaing Pinoy, na nilahukan ng mga mag-aaral mula ikaapat na baitang hanggang ika-12 baitang. Sinimulan ang programa sa panalangin na pinangunahan ni Gng. Suzanne Visperas na sinundan ng pambungad na pananalita ni Bb. Rose Mae Aldea. Matapos maipaliwanag ang mga panuntunan ng bawat laro, sabik na naghanda ang mga kalahok at unti-unting napuno ng sigawan, tawanan, at palakpakan ang paligid bilang hudyat ng pagsisimula ng mga paligsahan.

Unang nagharap ang mga kalahok sa karera ng sako, kung saan nasubok ang kanilang bilis sa pag-uunahan. Nagtagisan ng galing ang ikaapat na baitang laban sa ikalimang baitang, ang dalawang seksyon ng ikaanim na baitang laban sa isa't isa, at ikapitong baitang laban sa ikawalong baitang. Sinundan ito ng paggulong ng goma, na humamon naman sa mabilis na pagkilos at maayos na pagkontrol ng mga kalahok habang sinisikap nilang mauna sa kanilang mga katunggali.

Nagpatuloy ang mga palaro sa kadang, na sumubok sa balanse at tiyaga ng mga kalahok hanggang makarating sila sa dulo. Hindi rin nagpahuli ang lahat sa kulyot na masayang nilaro ng mga mag-aaral at g**o sa pangwakas na bahagi ng paligsahan.

Matapos ang mga palaro, nagsama-sama ang lahat upang pagsaluhan ang ibaโ€™t ibang pagkaing pinoy. Sa bawat tawa at alaalang naiwan, tumatak sa puso ng mga Bosconians ang tunay na diwa ng pagkakaisa at pagpapahalaga bilang isang Pilipino.

Muling umalingawngaw ang tawanan at sigawan ng mga bata sa masiglang pagdaraos ng Larong Pinoy para sa mga mag-aaral mula Kindergarten hanggang Ikatlong baitang. Sinimulan ang programa sa isang panalangin na pinangunahan ni Maโ€™am Suzanne Visperas bago naging makulay ang araw sa pamamagitan ng mga larong naghatid ng saya, sigla, at masasayang tagpo sa palaruan.

Unang sinubok ang liksi at bilis ng mga kalahok sa larong karera sa sako. Sa unang paghaharap, nanaig ang kindergarten laban sa unang baitang, habang tinalo naman ng ikatlong baitang ang ikalawang baitang. Hindi nagtagal, sinundan ito ng paggulong ng goma, kung saan muling ipinakita ng mga bata ang kanilang husay. Parehong koponan pa rin ang nagwagi matapos makuha ng kindergarten at ikatlong baitang ang magkasunod na panalo laban sa kanilang mga katunggali.

Nagpatuloy ang saya sa karera sa kadang kung saan naglaban ang ikalawang baitang at ikatlong baitang, at sa huli ay nanalo ang ikatlong baitang matapos malampasan ang hamon ng laro. Lalong naging maingay ang sigawan ng mga nanonood nang magsimula ang kulyot kung saan nanalo ang ikalawang baitang laban sa pinagsamang koponan ng kindergarten at unang baitang, habang tinalo naman ng Cafasso ang Bessuco sa tapatan ng dalawang seksyon mula sa ikatlong baitang.

Matapos ang mga paligsahan, sumunod naman ang tradisyunal na laro na pabitin kung saan masayang-masaya ang mga bata habang tumatalon para maabot ang mga nakasabit na pagkain at laruan. Pagkatapos ng laro, masayang nagsalo-salo ang lahat sa mga pagkaing pinoy bilang masarap at masayang pagtatapos ng kanilang araw.

Sa huli, maaaring may mga pangkat na nagwagi sa bawat laro, ngunit higit na namukod-tangi ang saya ng pagkakaroon ng pagkakataong maglaro nang magkakasama. Sa bawat talon, takbo, hila, at tawanan, ipinakita ng mga bata na ang larong pinoy ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pagkapanalo. Isa rin itong masayang paraan upang makilala, pahalagahan, at ipagpatuloy ang mga larong tunay na atin.

DBTI INTER-BARKADA OPENS WITH FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL ACTION

The Inter-Barkada Games at Don Bosco Technical Institute officially got underway with football and basketball matches on opening day.

Gregory and Friends opened the football action with a 3โ€“2 comeback win over Togoytoy Fc after trailing 1โ€“2 at halftime. In basketball, Scraper came away with a close 19โ€“17 win over Team PA-SI.

The opening matches brought an early dose of competition as the Inter-Barkada Games kicks off.

During the morning talk, Isaiah Casmier Delagao, VP DBSG, shared with us a meaningful reflection on the essence of true gratitude โ€” recognizing the blessings we often overlook and appreciating the things we consider ordinary.

Delagao shared his experience of staying with families whose primary source of livelihood is selling flowers. Despite the challenges they faced as a family, he mentioned that their genuine hospitality became a reminder that gratitude and generosity are measured by the willingness to share what one has with others.

The talk encouraged the Bosconian community to recognize and appreciate the blessings present in their daily lives. He also reminded us that we should never take for granted the things we value and cherish, such as our family, education, opportunities, and everyday experiences โ€” because these are blessings that others may hope for and work hard to achieve.

Today, August 16, 2026, Don Bosco Technical Institute of Victorias, Inc. commemorates the 211th birthday of Saint John Bosco, the Father and Teacher of the Youth.

Saint John Bosco devoted his entire life to the service of the poor, abandoned, and street children. To the Bosconian community, Don Bosco holds great significance as he regarded the youth as his own children. The spirit of Don Bosco continues to be carried through the practice of his Preventive System: ๐™๐™š๐™–๐™จ๐™ค๐™ฃ, ๐™๐™š๐™ก๐™ž๐™œ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ, ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™‡๐™ค๐™ซ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™†๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™™๐™ฃ๐™š๐™จ๐™จ, which serves as the foundation of formation in Don Bosco schools.

Saint John Bosco remains a model for the Bosconian community, inspiring us to become good Christians and honest citizens, and his teachings continue to shape the mission and identity of DBTI. His example challenges the youth to embrace responsibility, practice integrity, and live out values of faith, compassion, and solidarity in their daily lives.

Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) held an orientation program for the Grade 11 and Grade 12 students of the Senior High School Department of Don Bosco Technical Institute of Victorias, Inc. at Braga Hall.

The orientation emphasized ADMU's three core principles: ๐‘๐ž๐š๐๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐œ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ, ๐‘๐ž๐š๐๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐Ž๐ฉ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐‘๐ž๐š๐๐ฒ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐†๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ก. Bosconians were introduced to the significance of the Core Curriculum in shaping career choices and academic direction. It also highlighted ADMU's standing as one of the top universities in the Philippines, as reflected in its academic performance and commitment to excellence in education. The session also focused on the holistic development of students through leadership training, student organizations, and campus life.

The admission process for prospective college applicants was explained. Bosconians were oriented on the general application instructions, requirements, application period, deadlines, and the schedule of the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET). It was also noted that provincial testing centers are made available in both Luzon and Visayas to accommodate applicants from different regions. The timeline for the release of admission decisions was likewise discussed.

The program ended with an open forum where students were able to ask questions and clarify concerns about college life, courses, and the application process. It provided insights into the university's academic standards, student life, and the preparation required for college admission.

The orientation also helped Bosconians think about their future courses and career paths as they plan for college.
