Parent Orientation and First School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) General Assembly for School Year 2026–2027 was successfully conducted at Cruz Elementary School, bringing together parents, teachers, school personnel, and barangay leaders to strengthen collaboration and promote shared responsibility in providing quality education for every learner.
The activity was also graced by Hon. Editha Apolonio, Barangay Councilor and Committee on Education Chairperson, and Hon. Luisito Gacusan, Barangay Councilor, whose presence demonstrated the barangay's continued support for the school's programs and initiatives. Their participation underscored the importance of strong collaboration among the school, parents, and the local government in advancing the welfare and education of every learner.
The program opened with an orientation on important Advisories to Parents led by Ma'am Belinda Rosario, who discussed essential procedures and reminders in supporting, protecting and giving welfare to their children and their overall well-being.
To promote discipline and a safe learning environment, Ma'am Joyal Abalos presented the school's Do's and Don'ts, emphasizing the rules and regulations that every learner and parent should observe. She highlighted the importance of cooperation in maintaining a positive, respectful, and orderly school community.
Meanwhile, Ma'am Marlene Nota oriented the parents on the New School Calendar for School Year 2026–2027, particularly the implementation of the Three-Term Block System and the revised grading system. She explained the significant changes in the academic calendar, assessment schedule, and grading procedures to help parents better understand how they can support their children's academic progress throughout the school year.
A brief Parents' Effectiveness Seminar was also previewed by Ma'am Anna Lea Dizon, who underscored the vital role of parents as their children's first teachers.
In her presentation, Ma'am Elsa Dispo, OIC-School Head, reported on the financial status of the school, including updates on stakeholders' contributions, completed and ongoing school projects, and other initiatives aimed at improving school facilities and services. She emphasized transparency, accountability, and the importance of sustained community support in achieving the school's goals.
One of the highlights of the assembly was the Election of SPTA Officers for School Year 2026–2027, which was efficiently facilitated by Ma'am Charmaine Catausan, who also served as the program's Master of Ceremonies. The election provided parents with the opportunity to choose leaders who will work closely with the school in implementing programs and projects that will benefit the learners.
The success of the activity was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the teaching and non-teaching personnel. Ma'am Mercywin Doña Bañez provided technical assistance throughout the program, while Sir Enrico Llorente managed the sound system to ensure the smooth delivery of presentations. Raymond Bergonio, Administrative Aide I (ADA I), and Judy Agliam, Administrative Aide III (ADA III), took charge of the physical arrangement of the venue, creating an organized and welcoming environment for the participants. Meanwhile, Ma'am Jocelyn Teodoro handled the documentation of the event and attendance monitoring, ensuring that the proceedings were properly recorded.
The successful conduct of the Parent Orientation and First SPTA General Assembly reflects Cruz Elementary School's commitment to meaningful parent engagement. More than fulfilling a requirement, the activity served as a venue for parents and educators, together with the barangay officials, to strengthen partnerships, deepen mutual understanding, and work collectively toward providing a safe, inclusive, and learner-centered educational environment.
