Two Days, One Scout Spirit: A Camp to Remember
From rededicating the Scouts Promise and Law to taking on team-building challenges, environmental activities, and an obstacle course, young scouts turned the Joint BSP-GSP Backyard Camping on September 25–26, 2026, into a hands-on experience in leadership, teamwork, creativity, and service.
The two-day activity opened with the rededication of the Scouts Promise and Law, participated in by selected Star Scouts, Kab Scouts, Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP), and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP). The ceremony served as a reminder of the scouts’ commitment to the values and principles of scouting.
A warm welcome message was delivered by SPTA President Noly Boado, followed by an orientation on backyard camping facilitated by Marlene Nota, who introduced the scouts to the activities and expectations for the two-day camp.
The first day continued with hands-on scouting activities. The scouts showcased their creativity through flag making, facilitated by Co-Leader Mercywin Doña Bañez, while BSP Leader Enrico G. Llorente led the T-shirt printing activity, allowing the scouts to create their own camp shirts.
As night fell, the camp came alive during the Grand Campfire, featuring cheers, yells, songs, TikTok dance presentations, and socialization. The evening activities were facilitated by the Cruz ES faculty and staff, with the support of School Principal Madam Elsa I. Dispo, giving the scouts an opportunity to enjoy, perform, and strengthen their bonds with fellow campers.
Day 2 began with an energetic Zumba activity led by the SPTA Officers and Mam Jane Tanedo, preparing the scouts for another series of activities. This was followed by a parade, where scouts proudly wore their printed shirts and waved their respective flags.
The scouts then took part in team-building activities facilitated by Madam Anna Lea Pascua Dizon, putting their cooperation, communication, and teamwork into action. The camp also emphasized service to the environment through a tree-planting activity with Madam Joyal Abalos, followed by a Clean-Up Drive.facilitated by Madam Marlene Nota.
Adding excitement to the camp was the Obstacle Course, led by the boys of Cruz ES, Sir Enrico, Raymond, and Judy. The activity challenged the scouts’ agility, coordination, determination, and teamwork.
The two-day camping culminated in the Awarding and Closing Program, where the scouts’ hard work and participation were recognized.
The occasion also became a time to acknowledge the individuals and groups whose support contributed to the success of the activity.
School Principal Madam Elsa I. Dispo, recognized Barangay Captain and the contributions of Barangay Council, SPTA Officers led by SPTA President Noly Boado, and Municipal Councilor Hon. Jaefredeen Viernes, parents, teachers, and other supporters who helped make the two-day activity possible.
More than a backyard camping experience, the activity gave the scouts opportunities to learn by doing, work as a team, serve others, care for the environment, and build friendships—lessons that extend beyond the campsite and into their everyday lives.
With tents packed away and the camp officially concluded, the scouts took home more than awards and printed shirts: they carried with them new skills, shared experiences, and memories made through scouting.
