我們有幾多顆牙？您有想過嗎？答案需要考慮幾個要素，最重要的是年齡，因為兒童及成人的牙齒數量不同。那麼，兒童有幾顆牙呢？
乳牙

兒童在約 6 個月大時開始長牙。早期牙齒的學名是乳牙（deciduous teeth）。"Deciduous" 指落葉，比喻終究會脫落的乳牙。

兒童一共有 20 顆乳牙，上下排各 10 顆。這些牙齒為將來的恆齒預留位置。雖然乳牙終究會脫落，但 您應該把乳牙當成恆齒一樣用心保護。在孩子開始長牙時，您便應開始為孩子培養健康的飲食及刷牙習慣。兒童在 6 歲左右便會開始掉牙，恆齒會代替脫落的乳牙。換牙的過程會一直持續到10幾歲。

恆齒

成人的牙齒比小孩多，多數成人都有 32 顆牙。當中包括 8 顆門齒、4 顆犬齒、8 顆小臼齒及 12 顆大臼齒（包括 4 顆智齒）。多數人會在青少年時期長齊所有恆齒。口腔內通常沒有足夠位置讓智齒生長，智齒長出後可能會擠壓造成其他牙齒移位，因此成人普遍都會選擇拔掉。

那麼，我們有幾顆牙？一般而言，兒童有 20 顆牙，而成人則有 32 顆（拔除智齒後便是 28 顆）。每一顆牙齒都需要用心照顧。
