The Department of Education wishes to address the recirculating April 2023 PTV News report regarding the proposed merger of Araling Panlipunan and MAPEH into "SIKAP."

We clarify that this news item reflects outdated discussions from 2023 and does not represent current policy. Furthermore, under the revised K to 10 Curriculum, Makabansa is a distinct, foundational learning area for Key Stage 1 (Grades 1 to 3)—it is NOT a combination or merger of Araling Panlipunan and MAPEH. Rather, it uses a holistic, transdisciplinary approach to foster self-awareness, cultural appreciation, and civic understanding in young learners. Starting in Grade 4, Araling Panlipunan and MAPEH (Music & Arts, PE & Health) continue to be taught as separate and distinct learning areas.

We urge the public to practice critical thinking, check context, and verify release dates before sharing content online.

AFTERNOON FACE-TO-FACE CLASS SUSPENSION ADVISORY

Itinaas na sa YELLOW Rainfall Warning ang Metro Manila, kabilang ang Valenzuela City, sa ganap na alas-8:00 ng umaga ngayong araw, Agosto 5, 2026, dulot ng Habagat at Tropical Cyclone Maymay.

Dahil dito, SUSPENDIDO ang PANG-HAPON na FACE-TO-FACE classes sa lahat ng antas (pampubliko at pribado) sa Lungsod ng Valenzuela.

Para sa mga mag-aaral na nakapasok na ngayong umaga, magpapatuloy muna ang klase habang hinihintay ang ligtas na oras ng uwian. Maaari rin silang sunduin nang mas maaga ng kanilang mga magulang o guardians.

Mag-ingat ang lahat at manatiling nakaantabay sa mga opisyal na anunsyo ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Valenzuela.

Please be advised of the revised schedule and important activities for June 9, 2026:

All club advisers and selected club officers are requested to facilitate the Grab-a-Club Activity according to the following schedule:

* Grade 7 - 10:30-11:30
*Grade 10 - 11:30-12:20
*Grade 8 - 2:00-3:00
*Grade 9 - 3:00-4:00

The State of the School Address (SOSA) originally scheduled for tomorrow will be postponed and rescheduled for September.
Parents are encouraged to attend the orientation and election activities of the Homeroom Parents-Teachers Association (HPTA) and Grade Parents-Teachers Association (GrPTA).

Pabatid sa mga Magulang at Mag-aaral

Magandang araw po!

Narito po ang ilang mahahalagang paalala at iskedyul para sa nalalapit na pagbubukas ng klase:

1. Listahan ng mga Seksyon - Nakapaskil na po sa Activity Center ang mga pangalan at seksyon ng mga mag-aaral. Maaari po ninyo itong tingnan ayon sa itinakdang iskedyul.

2. Brigada Eskwela - Inaanyayahan po namin ang lahat ng mga magulang, guardian, at iba pang stakeholder na makiisa sa Brigada Eskwela. Sama-sama po nating linisin at ayusin ang ating paaralan upang maging handa at ligtas para sa darating na pasukan. Maaari rin po kayong magdala ng mga cleaning materials bilang inyong kontribusyon.

3. State of the School Address (SOSA) - Inaasahan po ang pagdalo ng mga magulang at guardian sa gaganaping State of the School Address (SOSA). Mahalaga po ang gawaing ito sapagkat ilalahad ng Punong G**o ang kasalukuyang kalagayan ng paaralan, mga nagawa nitong programa at proyekto, gayundin ang mga plano at layunin para sa susunod na taon ng pag-aaral.

4. Mahahalagang Iskedyul - Pakitingnan po ang mga iskedyul na nakalagay sa ibaba at tandaan ang mga ito upang maging gabay sa mga aktibidad ng paaralan.

Maraming salamat po sa inyong patuloy na pakikiisa, suporta, at kooperasyon para sa ikatatagumpay ng ating paaralan.
