On 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, PLV-BRIDGE had the opportunity to be part of the launching of 𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐆 𝐛𝐲 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐞, a mental health program dedicated to providing support and a safe space for students. 🫂 ❤️‍🩹

As marshalls and event assistants, PLV-BRIDGE members had a 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 serving behind the scenes, assisting participants, and working together to help make the event a success.

Today, we honor the life, courage, and legacy of former 𝑺𝒆𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒐 "𝑵𝒊𝒏𝒐𝒚" 𝑺. 𝑨𝒒𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒐 𝑱𝒓. 🎗️

From reporting as a young war correspondent to serving as the country's youngest senator, 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞. When Martial Law was declared, 𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐦, enduring years of imprisonment, a severe 40-day hunger strike, and exile in the United States.

Despite knowing the grave dangers awaiting him, he chose to return home in 1983 with a message of truth, democracy, and reconciliation. His ultimate sacrifice 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 that forever changed the course of our nation, reminding millions that 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐝𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭.
