๐งฌ Forensic Science Department successfully concluded the Genomics Learning Institute 2026, featuring the CFX Opus Real-Time PCR for Clinical Diagnostics and Research: A Practical Workshop.
The training covered fundamental concepts in genomics, PCR, sample collection and preparation, RT-PCR principles, and hands-on application of real-time PCR technology.
Representing the Forensic Science Department were Dr. Princess Alyssa Tee-Anastacio, Ms. Jessica Mae Monzon, Ms. Jayme Lynn Flores, and Mr. Myko Calpatura, who actively participated in the hands-on laboratory workshop and gained valuable exposure to the Bio-Rad CFX Opus 96 Real-Time PCR System and its applications in molecular and genomic analysis.
This faculty development initiative was sponsored by the OLFU College of Medical Laboratory Science, in partnership with Everlife Lifeline Diagnostics, fostering interdisciplinary learning and strengthening faculty competencies in emerging molecular technologies relevant to forensic science.
