We often think intelligence is the advantage.
But over time, you realize… it’s not.
It’s HABITS.
Because kids won’t feel motivated every day.
And learning won’t always be easy.
But when a child gets used to sitting down and focusing,
finishing what they start, thinking through things even when it’s hard…
something quietly builds.
Confidence that isn’t forced.
Confidence that’s earned.
Hindi ito biglaan. But it lasts.
And this is what we build every day in Kumon.
Not just Math skills— but discipline they carry for life.

Fukuoka, Japan Study Trip 2026 🇯🇵 ( Series 1.1 )
Last March 24, 2026, I had the privilege of visiting the Kumon Center of Ms. Ino Sensei in Fukuoka, Japan together with fellow mentors from Kumon Philippines Inc.
What stayed with me the most is this simple truth: no matter where we are in the world, parents share the same love and hopes for their children. It was a beautiful reminder that what we do in Kumon goes beyond academics. It is about helping children grow into capable and confident individuals.
During her sharing, Ms. Ino Sensei emphasized that before academic ability, we must first develop work and study skills. Discipline, focus, perseverance, and the habit of finishing what one starts. These are the foundations that allow real learning to happen. She also reminded us to trust the process, to follow the intention of the worksheets, and to always check the child’s true current ability.
When children experience small wins, they become motivated to keep going. When guided properly, they eventually learn how to learn on their own.
What made everything even more meaningful was seeing these principles come to life inside her center. Most of the students were quietly working on their own, analyzing examples and solving independently. The assistants were patient and intentional, especially with the new learners.
Ms. Ino Sensei carefully observed each child, giving them time to think before stepping in. You could really see how self-learning ability was being developed right before our eyes.
For 28 years, Ms. Ino Sensei has nurtured thousands of students in her community. The culture she has built, both in her students and her team, reflects her dedication and heart as an educator. It was truly inspiring to witness.
I came home grateful, humbled, and reminded of our purpose. Before we guide children in learning, we must first help them become ready to learn. Thank you, Ms. Ino Sensei, for opening your center to us and for inspiring us to continue helping every child discover their true potential.

📚 Personalized Learning Journey
At Kumon, each student’s path is tailored just for them! We carefully assign worksheets that match their individual skill level, empowering them to tackle challenges confidently and independently.
🕒 Consistent Daily Practice
Every day, your child dedicates just 20-30 minutes to engaging with their worksheets. This time isn’t just about completing tasks; it’s about building a strong foundation that supports lifelong learning.
💪 The Journey of Mastery
Each level consists of 200 meticulously crafted worksheets designed to propel your child’s learning. The dedication and perseverance they show in completing these challenges prepare them to thrive academically and beyond!
🔄 Mastery Through Repetition
We believe that true mastery comes from understanding. That’s why we encourage repetition—students revisit topics until they’re ready to move forward, ensuring they fully grasp each concept before advancing.
🏆 Achievement Test
To ensure their readiness, students complete an Achievement Test at the end of each level. This isn’t just a test; it’s a celebration of their hard work and growth!
👏 Kudos to Our Students and Parents! We are immensely proud of our diligent students who embrace the Kumon philosophy and the amazing parents who support them in developing essential skills like focus, independence, and resilience.

“Even When Passion Fades, Purpose Can Carry You Forward.”
Not every Kumon journey is filled with constant motivation. Some are quieter. More honest. More real.
Chanelle Margarette M. Narciso began her Kumon journey through her mother’s encouragement. What started as a simple step turned into years of growth through Kumon Reading. As she encountered different texts and ideas, she began to enjoy learning and discovered how to think, analyze, and express more clearly.
But her journey was not without struggle.
“There were multiple times I thought of giving up,” she shared.
There were days when passages felt long and progress felt slow.
The passion she once had began to fade. Yet in those moments, Chanelle chose to continue. She reminded herself of the learning she might lose and the growth she was still becoming.
Over time, she embraced a powerful truth.
“Even if I am not naturally smart, I can improve through consistent effort and dedication.”
Today, as a Grade 10 student from San Diego Parochial School, Chanelle approaches her studies with greater confidence. She expresses her thoughts more clearly, understands complex lessons better, and faces academic challenges with more independence.
Beyond academics, her Reading journey built discipline, focus, and the ability to learn on her own. She knows these are still works in progress, but she has made a clear decision.
“No matter what it takes, I am going for it. For the kind of person I want to become.”
Her journey reminds us that growth takes time. It requires patience, consistency, and the willingness to stay, even when it is difficult.
And sometimes, the most meaningful victories are quiet ones.
“My winning moment was whenever I grasped a tricky Kumon question.”
Moments when confusion turns into clarity. When effort finally makes sense. When a student realizes that learning goes beyond worksheets.
Today, we proudly celebrate Chanelle Margarette M. Narciso, our 249th Kumon Reading Program Completer. Her story reminds us that even when passion fades, purpose can carry you forward.
💙 To her parents, Marra Socorro and Christopher, thank you for your trust and encouragement. Your support helped shape the strong and independent learner Chanelle is today.
Congratulations, Chanelle.
Your journey has only just begun. 🌟
