DepEd Reaffirms Support for Girl Scouting in Schools (2025)

The Department of Education has officially reiterated that the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) program remains fully recognized and supported in public schools nationwide.

For our girls:
Girl Scouting builds leadership, confidence, discipline, and service, while empowering girls to become responsible citizens and future leaders. Programs are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), allowing girls to actively participate in advocacies for education, equality, environment, and community development.

For our teachers and troop leaders:
Girl Scouting activities are now recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This means professional growth, service credits, and recognition, while mentoring empowered and values-driven learners.

Schools are encouraged to organize Girl Scout units and support activities in compliance with DepEd policies and Republic Act No. 10073.

Hearts That Forgive, Friendships That Soar

From January 24–26, the Girl Scouts of Valencia District gathered at MPOLMHS, Marawis, Bohol, not just to face the Challenge Valley, but to open their hearts to service, to nature, and to each other. They donated goods to those in need, planted trees, and showed that courage and care go hand in hand.

In their Scout’s Own, the girls reflected on forgiveness and friendship. They were reminded that even when wounds linger, letting go allows new growth and they celebrated memories, shared laughter, and held close the promise of unbroken friendship

Before leaving, the girls formed a friendship circle, sharing wishes for sisterhood, unity, and bonds that last beyond the camp. Every obstacle overcome, every song sung, and every shared smile became a testament to the heart of Girl Scouting: learning to forgive, to serve, and to lift each other higher even when the wind blows strong.

Today, we celebrate more than your birthday, we celebrate you, the heart of our sisterhood. As our Girl Scout President, you have been more than a leader; you have been a guide, a safe space, and a constant reminder of what it truly means to serve with love.

Thank you for believing in girls even before we learned to believe in ourselves. Thank you for leading with empathy, strength, and quiet courage. In every decision you make and every step you take, you show us that leadership is not about power, but about care and that being a girl’s girl means lifting others as you rise.

You dedicate your time, your energy, and your heart to guiding young girls to become confident, compassionate, and fearless. Because of you, we feel seen. Because of you, we feel capable. Because of you, we know that sisterhood is real.

On your special day, we hope you feel the love you so freely give. May this year return to you the kindness, strength, and joy you’ve planted in all of us.
